A Banker's Review of B to B Golf,
By David L. Roe (Hudson Valley of New York State) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Business-to-Business Golf : How to Swing Your Way to Business Success (Paperback)
I entertain clients on the Golf Course frequently. This book gave me real insight into Customer golf. First, I found it very easy reading, and easy to follow. The Business to Business Golf Principles contained within the book are real, and worthwhile. I was particularly impressed with the 18 Chapters - Equal to the number of holes in a golf game. Smith gives easy to follow instructions in how to become more successful in your Business, through Customer entertainment on the Golf Course. A most interactive experience.

Business to Business Golf: How to Swing Your Way to Business Success,
This review is from: Business-to-Business Golf : How to Swing Your Way to Business Success (Paperback)
A quick read chock full of tips for any business person. The golf analogies make it a fun read but you don't have to be a golfer or even know anything about golf to benefit from this book. The author provides many ideas that can be used to help you gain or keep clients, or help you deal with business associates and employees. You will come away with some down to earth business common sense. The references at the end of the book are an invaluable tool. Buy it, read it and keep it handy. You will refer back to it again and again.

I expected the worst from this one. As a life long business consultant and golfer, I usually find such books to be written to the least common denominator idiots who play golf or seek to justify playing golf at the expense of their business careers. This one was a pleasant surprise. The golf etiquette advice is simple and sensible and the related business advice is even better. In fact, this book offers a good distillate of the best business consulting, leaving golf out of the picture. But the use of golf as a premise for this advice really does make for fun and recollection of the lessons. I suspect that Mr. Smith is a very good golfer and he is certainly a business consultant to whom I would listen. The writing still is clean, quick, fun and literate. The only book of this kind worth reading!

I am just beginning to incorporate golf as a method for acquiring new clients in my practice. Michael's book answers many questions I've had about how best to conduct a 'business round' of golf. Not only does he give a wealth of info on proper golf behaviors and etiquette, he also provides a wide range of advice on how to build a successful business. I'd recommend this book to anyone wanting to integrate the wonderful game of golf with becoming a better businessperson.

Mike Smith's book did more for me in one round of golf than any other book I have read about business relationships. It is easy to read, packed with useful information and will help you avoid making mistakes in etiquette that could cost you a lot more than the cost of the book. It is written for golfers but Mike's common-sense approach to creating successful business relationships is transferable to any situation. As far as golf books go, it's an eagle!

More and more women are playing golf as they recognize what the men have known all along -- a lot of business deals get cemented on the golf course. Whether you are new to the world of business or to the world of golf, this book will be very helpful. At the beginning of each of the 18 chapters there is a scenario which could occur on the golf course; it provides an entertaining way to show you what you should do. Along with all the golf tips is a lot of solid business advice to help you succeed. Mike's Appendix is also full of good resources. Certainly well worth the price!
