Unique in both perspective and approach, this is the first book to use classical American pragmatism as an ethical framework for dealing with ethical issues in business. The book first explores ethical theory from both the traditional and pragmatic perspectives. Then, using the pragmatic perspective, discusses the nature of the corporation and its relationship to society, the various environments in which business functions, and specific issues in the contemporary marketplace and workplace.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book with a practical approach!, February 20, 2004

This review is from: Business Ethics: The Pragmatic Path Beyond Principles to Process (Paperback)
A good book that puts theory into action in a systematic manner. The authors first introduce the students to the philosophical concepts relating to business ethics and then show how they relate to our business world. This approach helped me in grasping the material with a practical perspective. Chapter discussion questions, short cases, and six long cases at the end of chapter material in this textbook provide ample opportunity for critical thinking and analysis. This book is a bit different from other traditional business ethics texts where the emphasis in on ethical theory.

I used this book to prepare for the CMA Ceritfication Exams business ethics material. But, it could be used for any college level/professional exams Business Ethics course as a primary textbook or with other recommended textbooks.
