4.0 out of 5 stars Glad I purchased this book
This book has made me think of things I would have never thought about. It is full of practical teachings and advice. I have learned how to better talk with the parents that I already have and the new ones I shall be interviewing. The writer shows how she kept her records and to me that was worth the money alone. This author teaches the basics of opening and running a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
This book is an absolute joke. It is so poorly written that a person who had absolutely no experience running an In-Home Daycare could have produced the exact same results. All the info in the book can be found for free on the web or through your local licensing office. Don't waste your money.

This book has made me think of things I would have never thought about. It is full of practical teachings and advice. I have learned how to better talk with the parents that I already have and the new ones I shall be interviewing. The writer shows how she kept her records and to me that was worth the money alone. This author teaches the basics of opening and running a good daycare and making a living with what she loved to do. I would say, this is a good purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars waste of money, May 5, 2003
This review is from: The Business of Home Daycare (Paperback)
This book is so poorly written, full of typos and bad grammar-- it is impossible to read. The info is all common sense, but I only skimmed it before returning it. I'd skip this one and look for a better book on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Information, April 17, 2002

This review is from: The Business of Home Daycare (Paperback)
I wish someone would have told me this before I started my daycare. The author tells of her own experiences in daycare. The book is simple, and easy to read, better than all the techie-stuff. She don't hold back, and I like that. She shows her agreements, flyers and spreadsheets she used. She tells how to prepare your home for child safety. There is information on rules, menus, projects and so much stuff. I am glad I purchased this book. It's one that I will referred to often. I find this book very useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Cent$ Read., October 28, 2003
This review is from: The Business of Home Daycare (Paperback)
I think this book is a good written--good common cent$--read to anyone who is in the business now or thinking about it. A lot of the information one can get from the internet but--who wants to waste all thier time surfing to get nips and buds here and there when you can grab this book and have it all right in front of you. That's a No-Brainer!! I recommend this book I found it very useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Straightforward Author!, May 24, 2002
This review is from: The Business of Home Daycare (Paperback)
In my opinion, this book had a lot of sound information within. I am opening my own daycare business shortly, and I will be using this book to help me in the course of my endeavor. I would suggest this book to all starting a daycare or formerly in business. This book is straightforward and very valuable. I look forward to more books this author will be publishing, as I will surely be one of the first in line to buy!

PS...I like her style she seems to speak her mind!
