It's nice rig and I've been happy with performance and visibility.

The 1920x1200 display provides better vertical height than more common 1920x1080 displays, and tall 12 7/8" screen height.

The other monitor also has a base that allows for greater height adjustment.

Worked right out of the box. Only had to reduce Brightness from 90 to 20. The 1920x1200 display provides better vertical height than more common 1920x1080 displays, and tall 12 7/8" screen height. No dead pixels. The unit comes with a business quality stand, very stable and firm, moves up and down, tilts forward/backward, swivels on rectangular base that also serves as a tray for pencils etc. Easy button controls. PCRush delivered the product 48 hours after ordering on Sunday, via free Super Saver shipping.

I bought this monitory through Amazon or actually through an Amazon affiliate. I was happy with the delivery service and with the price. (Although I wish I did not have to pay sales tax; thanks for nothing Governor Brown.) I view this as a monitor for no-nonsense users. There are four major positives.

(+1) The LED light source brings the weight, power consumption, and heat way down compared to the older backlit technology. (+2) An important reason to buy this monitor is the 16 by 10 aspect ratio. Most monitors are 16 by 9 because that is used for broadcast television. The extra height makes all the difference. You can view two American standard 8.5 by 11 inch pages side by side. (+3) The monitor has a slightly frosted screen which keeps down reflections. (+4) At $234 when I bought it, the price is hard to beat.

There are some very minor negatives.

(-1) The color saturation varies with the angle so that at 18 inches viewing distance the colors at the bottom of the screen look slightly washed out. (-2) The maximum adjustable height is a bit low. You will find yourself standing the monitor on the traditional ream of paper. (-3) The monitor has no integrated sound. You should also buy the LCD speaker bar that attaches under the screen; it works well and also blocks you view of the cords at the rear of the base. The LCD speaker bar draws power from a USB plug but you can use a plug on the monitor. (-4) There is no integrated or attachable camera.

All in all a good choice. I would definitely buy this again, but I wish HP would fix my minor complaints. In fact, they have fixed some of them, if you want to pay $150 more for the ZR2440w at $385. It uses a different technology for the color layer in the screen which fixes the angle sensitivity of the color saturation. The other monitor also has a base that allows for greater height adjustment.

If you read/write a lot of text in your work, you need this monitor. The higher resolution really pays off in eyestrain relief.
I work with a pdf on the right side and a word document on the left, it's very handy to have the two docs side by side when I'm reading the pdf and writing the report in Word.

This monitor was bought to sit next to my old HP LA2405wg, which is now out of production. It matches the LA2405wg *perfectly*, the stand and case are identical. (I'm posting a pic of the two side-by-side)
Speaking of the stand, this monitor has a great stand, very flexible, does height, angle, and rotation all very easily. I like my monitors low so that my line of vision is about level with the top of the monitor, so I have my monitors in the lowest position, and with these monitors that puts the bottom of my screen just under one inch from the desktop.
Color is good right out of the box. I'm not a photo person, but I certainly don't see any tints or fading anywhere.

The stand is already attached when you pull it out of the box, all you have to do is un-bend it into the position you want, attach the monitor and power cables (and USB if you want it).

I can't speak to the viewing angle, I sit directly in front of it and it looks fine to me.
No dead pixels that I can find.
I hope it lasts as well as my old HP.
Having two nice matching monitors is really nice, allows me to keep more windows open and increases my productivity.
I'm running these dual HP monitors on a late 2009 Mac Mini with Mac OS 10. 6.8 Snow Leopard operating system.

Like it's predecessor the LA2405wg, this monitor is a nice high res monitor. Good price. I've had three of the on different systems without problems.

The nicety for me is the HP Display port and DVI - I have a work HP laptop and a MacBook Air that I use with this. As a 'cheap' way to switch back and forth, I use the mouse and keyboard connected to the built in USB ports and just switch the one cable back and forth when I switch the input.

The display's default setting worried me a little at first, it was too bright. A few moments with the settings fixed that in short order. I like the easy up and down adjustments - nice depending on if I have bi-focals or reading glasses on. The display is matte so reflections aren't a huge deal, but the tilt will help with adjustment for 'spot' lighting if needed.

I was able to grab this monitor at a very good price (new for $159). In general, it's a really nice monitor. It's very very sharp (this can be adjusted via the menu). However the reason for the 4-star rating is that its colors are not as vivid as that of my old HP w2408. I feel the colors on the LA2405x are a bit more dull (at the same Brightness, Contrast, and Color settings). But other than that, I'm very happy with the purchase.
