I doubted the content of the book at first thinking it'll just tell of normal business laws. But after the first chapter, I found this book actually being helpful in providing examples of cases that actually happened and how the business laws were applied. Even for normal reading, the book is surely interesting.

A wonderful read, but marred by unconscionable editing errors highly uncommon to a book of this caliber.

Did you know that John Glen was the first person to orbit the Earth? According to this book he was.

Page 587: "In 1962, John Glenn became the first person to orbit the earth." Sorry Yuri guess you're out of luck.


Page 899: "...if there is some use of interstate commerce, such as the mails.." Mails?


Page 901: "Form 8-Ks to report any significant developments,..." 8-Ks? How about just SEC form 8-K.

I'm just eight chapters into reading this book (bouncing around as my syllabus requires) and probably three chapters in I had noticed several glaring grammatical errors that caught my eye. I didn't start taking notes immediately - as I am not auditioning for the job of editor, but this is really getting a tad ridiculous for a well respected college level text. That makes at least six, by my unofficial and non-expert count, errors that should have been caught, and that's after reading just eight of the forty-seven chapters this book contains. Still this is a good "reed even if de editers cant due der jub."

This textbook met my needs to prepare for and successfully pass an online college course per the associated assignments connected to the subject textbook.

While I received my "Business Law and the Legal Environment, Standard Edition" promptly, it was in much poorer condition than the seller had stated. Had I known the condition it was in, I would not have spent this much money on it.

It's a great book for anyone interested in learning about law. It's not a very boring mundane book. It's actually full of real life court room excerpts. They also use sarcasm quite often to keep it from being mundane. It's fun and informative. If you are seriously getting into law, then this is the book for you.

I was actually really loathing this class. The class I bought it for is Fundamentals of Business Law... and just the class title sounded boring. LOL. When I received the book, I flipped through it, thinking this is a huge book and it's probably super boring too... well, I got my first assignment, and was surprised to find that each chapter draws you in with a case scenario that is more of a narrative... starting off the chapter right.

Out of all the books that I have for this term, this one is actually my favorite... it even has some chapters I'm not supposed to use for this class, jumping around according to my syllabus, but have nonetheless used for other classes because they contain the same info, in better format, than the other book for a different class (I know, you're not supposed to do that, but if it has the same key points as the chapter outline in the other book, what's the difference if I can pass the test at the end and retain more info from a more readable book?) :D

This is a very useful book, the glossary I would give a grade of "C"... terms you expect to be there are sometimes not there. The index I would give a B+. It is pretty good. The actual material of the book... is great. Some topics that are actually pretty dry, due to the writing style of the authors, is certainly bearable, where the more interesting parts of business law and the case studies are thoroughly interesting indeed. When I'm up at 1am studying, I save this book for last because it doesn't put me to sleep like the others.

I agree, the case studies and wealth of info in this book certainly make it a good read for anyone. Actually, there was some info in this book I read 3 days ago that helped me today (a part about consumer law). Recommended... not that you have a choice, because if you're on this page, you probably have to buy this book for a course you're taking! LOL

Glad I purchased this. It really helps put the law into perspective and allows me as a leader to make intelligent decisions. Thanks.

Whoever wrote this textbook has a definite sense of humor. There are some suprisingly funny passages for a textbook. I enjoyed learning business law and was happy my college wanted this book. THUMBS UP!

Great Textbook! Highly recommended! Easy and quick read with material presented in an orderly fashion. Professional, not trashy, but it weighs so much, it does need its own set of wheels! Ordered through Amazon and it was the first one to arrive! I also saved about $75 going through Amazon with this new book vs. the campus book store.

The material in the book is suitable for easy reading with real life examples. Hope the newer editions will have current affairs.
