4.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't do her story justice July 6, 2012

Very interesting woman who accomplished a great deal. I'd like to learn more about her.

This reads like a transcription of an interview and the poorly-formatted book doesn't really do her justice. I downloaded this free during a promo and don't think most people, if they pay for it or used up their kindle prime monthly allotment, would be very satisfied. A shame, really, because Pamela Lim really did accomplish something very special.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Interview with Pamela Lim July 5, 2012
Verified Purchase
This is a fascinating look at Pamela Lim, the woman whose work revolutionized mobile commerce. As a female entrepreneur in a male-dominated field and culture, Ms. Lim's persistence and self-confidence broke barriers and shattered the glass ceiling.

In this book, Ms. Lim shares her personal experiences in managing a multi-million dollar corporation while running her own office and raising her family. Ms. Lim said "If your success is at the price of your family, then it's not worth it." She home-schools, oversees piano practice, and is raising children with her own work ethic. Her care extends to her employees- Ms. Lim was driven more by her employees' financial needs than by a desire for profit or fame. This book is a great look at the inner workings of a brilliant entrepreneurial mind.

Women Millionaires, Interview #1 is broken into three major chapters: Pamela's Journey From The Start, The Entrepreneur, and The Mother, with a Final Words From Pamela at the end. The style is conversational, the material mainly gathered from interviews with Ms. Lim. The work is mainly biographical, focusing on Ms. Lim's journey rather than her business strategies and the daily ins and outs of building a business.

There are some great moments in Ms. Lim's journey- my favorite being the old and old-fashioned banker who asked her who her senior staff were. At age 30, Ms. Lim was her company's senior staff. I think that Ms. Lim's passion and determination are inspirational, and leave you with her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs: "You must have a very strong will... to succeed. If you're half-hearted, you will fail."

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Short Interview of a Successful Woman July 4, 2012

Great short story about one woman and her climb to success, while still being a fantastic mom to 4 children, and later a 5th child. Pamela Lim went from worker to rich entrepreneur through hard work and courageous attitude. If your looking to be rich, this is a short interview you don't want to miss!
