I have noticed that people are a little confused about the two Creating Documents with Business Objects: Web Intelligence courses. The original course (the yellow book ISBN 0972263667) is a great book to learn Web intelligence. It was created to help people jump start their Business Objects development by showing them many of the methods used to create professional reports. It contains many reports that resemble real-life reports needed in any corporate environment. It is the most powerful course available and it will make you a better Business Objects developer. The original book comes with a CD that contains a Power Point presentation that allows the book to be used to train in a class room environment. In fact, many corporations use this manual to train their employees, including several very large international companies. There are also many videos that are accessible through the presentation. These videos are great demonstrations, but there is no audio in the videos. They are meant to reinforce the techniques learned in the manual. The CBT (Computer Based Training ISBN: 0972263640) is the same book, but it has been rewritten so the book can be presented in verbal form. Which means that every sentenced has been scrutinized, and if needed, rewritten. This book is accompanied with a CD that has a computer-base training application. The computer-based application presents the material in much the same manner that an instructor would present the material to a class. It is very extensive with video and audio of the slides and examples used in the course. The CBT was meant to replace the original Web intelligence course, but we realized that many corporations were using the course as a training manual, so we now have two versions of the same book - a training manual accompanied with a presentation and a rewritten training manual accompanied with a computer-based training CD. Both books are excellent choices for someone to learn how to create reports with Web Intelligence XI. We just give you a choice of formats. Also, with both books, you can schedule time on our Web Intelligence server to do the examples. We cannot offer a demo of Business Objects, so we do even better - we allow you to access our Web intelligence server that is already set up and running. So, you can simply log-in and start doing the examples. In addition, the author (me) is available through email and/or telephone to help you with any questions that you may have. There is no charge for this service and I am more than happy to help, because I write these books to help you to learn.
