5.0 out of 5 stars Great book. Easy to follow. Very Enjoyable.
Mr. Steiner came to our campus to discuss his book. We found him to be very personable, and decided to buy his book. We are given a lot of required reading, and it is refreshing to have a book that is appropriate towards our studies that can give us a real world outlook of the business world and what we can do to help us succeed upon our entry.

3.0 out of 5 stars interesting take, but felt like I was reading a Jr. High level book
This book does a nice job of motivating you toward your leadership aspirations, but many times I felt like I was back in Jr. High school and was listening to my teacher tell me stories of when he was growing up. With all the author's experience and interaction with such high-profile icons of this generation (and a few past), I would think he could have transferred his...

Mr. Steiner came to our campus to discuss his book. We found him to be very personable, and decided to buy his book. We are given a lot of required reading, and it is refreshing to have a book that is appropriate towards our studies that can give us a real world outlook of the business world and what we can do to help us succeed upon our entry.

Mr. Steiner relays his own personal experiences, as well as those of athletes he has met, and puts them into a format that expresses in terms we can all understand of the various ethics and motivations one should have when working in the business world. They are insightful and appropriate.

By having the book break into side stories within each chapter of certain instances or occurances that relate to the chapter's discussion makes it even more enoyable to read.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to other students, and I am in the process of buying it and having it mailed to my high school buddy at another college. Thanks Amazon for making it easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's the Plan, the team and the Customer that count!, October 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Business Playbook: Leadership Lessons From the World of Sports (Hardcover)
Steiners sports team oriented approach to management is an awakening for those that get caught up in "Big Picture"
and ultimately end up forgeting all of the small blocking
and tackling details that make a business successful
in all economic environments. Are we putting our people in
a position to win? Do we have a plan and are we communicating the plan? Are we paying attention to our customer's need
no matter how small or large they are. The book entertains
with anecdotes from Athletes and Steiner. A refreshing,
insightful quick read that provides applicable insight
to any type of business.

5.0 out of 5 stars *** Perfect Book For My Sales Force ***, November 8, 2003

I had the pleasure of receiving this book as a gift. I read it over the weekend and found it to be entertaining and insightful. The various stories within each chapter drills home simple advice which should help focus the saleman and help him realize those goals he sets forth for himself.

I recommend giving this book out not just to your top producers, but to those who need additional guidance and motivation to succeed.

This is also a good book to give to a kid who is in college or grad school looking to enter the business world. It would help them create good work ethics and business principles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learned Alot, November 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Business Playbook: Leadership Lessons From the World of Sports (Hardcover)
I have heard of Steiner Sports for many years and have even bought signed memorabilia from them. I decided to pick up this book and I actually had fun reading it. Not only did I love hearing the behind the scene stories about the athletes but owning a small trucking company I'm going to apply a lot of Brandon Steiner's theories to help grow my business. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars GET THIS BOOK!, November 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Business Playbook: Leadership Lessons From the World of Sports (Hardcover)
As an avid sports fan, I picked up this book to find out more about how the sports memorabilia world worked, however I ended up with a great deal more! I did not think that a book on business could be so entertaining, but this WAS and will definitely help me in my future endeavors. Steiner's stories are entertaining and really help to get his valuable points across. I strongly recommend it for anyone who wants to get ahead but doesn't want to read some boring book on business.

4.0 out of 5 stars BEST DAMM SPORTS BOOK, PERIOD, November 10, 2003
By
This review is from: The Business Playbook: Leadership Lessons From the World of Sports (Hardcover)
I thought this book was great. First of all, it's about sports. Second of all, it gave me unbelievable lessons on how to go about my day the right away. And how to value the people you meet as the most important things in life. I go into every day with a gameplan and a goal set each and every day. I never used to do this before. It really helps and I've learned all these tools from this book. Thanks Brandon!!
