Great for the Begginner and Established Escort, September 20, 2005
This review is from: The Business Side of Escorting: The Ins and Outs of Running a Business in the Cyber Age for the Escort and the Sensual Masseuse Serious About Her Profession. (Paperback)
There are a lot of great tips in here. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish it had been longer.
Great place for a new escort to start and worthwhile read for an established escort too.

Great information for starting your own escort/sensual touch business, July 24, 2007
This review is from: The Business Side of Escorting: The Ins and Outs of Running a Business in the Cyber Age for the Escort and the Sensual Masseuse Serious About Her Profession. (Paperback)
This is a very up-to-date book that gives the scoop on how to advertise, where exactly to advertise on the Internet, different scenarios for start-up costs. It lets you know how to deal with the tax issue many people in the sex industry face. It even has a section on what to do if the unexpected happens & how to deal with the unfortunate circumstance of dealing with law enforcement, suggesting contacting a good attorney & bail bondsman ahead of time to speed things up should one be harrased by police. It even has a questionnaire for one to take to see if they would be able to handle being an escort or sensual touch person. I found it invaluable information. I highly recommend it!

Buy the Business Side of Escorting II - this one is incomplete, February 2, 2008
This review is from: The Business Side of Escorting: The Ins and Outs of Running a Business in the Cyber Age for the Escort and the Sensual Masseuse Serious About Her Profession. (Paperback)
The Business Side of Escorting II: The Escort's Guide to Intelligently Running Her Business in The Cyber AgeThe above link is to the second book, they are not in series, but rather a more complete/updated version of this book.
I would not recommend buying this book because the second book is much more comprehensive with more up-to-date information.
I wish someone would have told me that the second book is WORD-FOR-WORD this book in most sections with additional information added. It makes this book obsolete.
So if you are considering purchasing both books to "cover-your bases" - DON'T - you will be reading the SAME text twice!
To comment on the content quality of the "II" book - it seems that there is def. good information here, especially about whether or not to file taxes - WHICH YOU SHOULD, after looking at the penalties and talking with my (new) financial adviser.
Great place to get good background information on all the things you haven't yet thought about, or didn't know if it was okay to ask. Deals with mostly your business part as an escort. I feel like it is very poorly structured with information all over the place, the author talks about financial things in like four different places...I hate having to search all over for a complete idea of everything I'm looking at with regard to the business. For example here are my interpretations of the main parts of the book:
1. "Preliminaries" - The emotional considerations of being an escort = 19 pages
2. "The Provider's Website and her Love Affair with the Internet" - Overview" - Overview of the typical Escort Business Models; Definitions
3. "Legal Issues Affecting the Provider" - Delves into the financial legal or rather illegal ways that you can get caught/prosecuted with tips/ideas of how to minimize your risks; also major encouragement to pay taxes - I was convinced after reading this section!!!
4. "Three Areas Critical to Your Success" - HOW to do each of the things to create your business; included advertising, marketing/promotion; screening (super important); safety concerns; stalking
5. "Applying Business Principles to Your Business" - jumping back to things financial and also safety; should you incorporated/llc/sole prop/etc; taxes; taxes; taxes; and more taxes
6. "Other Important Matters for the Escort" (this book is just soooo all over the place - just no order to it what so ever it seems) - photos; "Your Friend, the Condom"
7. "Personal Finance Issues for the Provider" - again more financial stuff, but still another section placed after that blurb about CONDOMS?? - this is just so annoying to me, but the info is still very good, placement sucks!) - Picking your financial planner, more financial stuff, "Coming to America" - if you from outside the US - what you need to consider attempting to be a provider in the USA
8. Index full of interesting although somewhat generic financial worksheets - good for if you've never seen anything like it before or just have trouble staying organized, but in no way complete - but a good start for things to consider
9. Glossary of terms
I also wanted to comment on other's review about the author using specific language like "pops" etc....c'mon its all semantics and you got the idea of what the author was talking about. The author in no way suggests YOU should use these terms, so back off - don't be such a prude (which I bet you are not if you are reading this book - ha ha!).
If you are looking for things more about the emotional side to escorting I would go with:
The Internet Escort's Handbook Book 1: The FoundationThis one has more of the personal considerations mentioned. It is the first in a series of books meant to be more comprehensive - I'm looking forward to her other publications!
