If you are even remotely interested in starting to teach sewing, this is a perfect place to start. There are great ideas that are practical and on target. Plus, there is a helpful section in the back that includes professional organizations, web links, and other resources. Reading this book got me motivated and excited!

I just got this in the mail today and I'm hooked on this book already. It's to the point and gives you everything you need without a bunch of extra stuff. I really like the pricing formats they offer to figure out a pricing system that works for the individual (it has lots of pricing examples!). They have great resources in the back of the book. I have already been to a hand full of sites to check them out. The book is thin and you can read through it without feeling overwhelmed. I've been a fashion designer for a while and I will be starting a fashion program at a local Teen Center. If all goes well, I'm strongly considering the possibility to continue the sewing business from my home for semi-private lessons. This book has given me the info to create that biz! It's nice to read a sewing/ business book as simplified as this one. I've read many fashion biz books and they all seems very discouraging or overwhelming. This book also has forms in the back that will help you get you get started. It's a great guideline even if you don't use their forms. It doesn't feel scary to start a sewing biz. Now all I need to do is actually start putting some classroom samples together.

Not exactly what I was looking for right at the moment. I was looking for more of lesson plan type information. I will keep it in my library for later use for information on pricing and advertising.

Book is very informative. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in starting a sewing business of any kind. I really appreciate the link to download forms that you might need. This is a great resource. The work has already been done and it's tried and proven to be successful. So buy it and enjoy!

I bought this because I will be giving learn to sew and quilt classes in a few months and wanted any advice I could get to do it as professionally as possible. While I did get some very valuable pointers, the focus on the garment industry was frustrating. I now realize that is what this company is all about, certifying one for a career in the garment industry.
