5.0 out of 5 stars A book you can use over and over again, December 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: You Are What You Wear (Business and casual style in a 'clicks and mortar' world) (Paperback)
I only buy books I can use over and over again. This book I use as a reference guide before I buy a new suit or custom made shirts. Also most people I see; purchase their suit and do not properly do alterations or let their tailor do them insufficiently. My experience is that most people in any kind of work will do their job in a fashion that is easier for them and not the customer. Since purchasing Mr. Thourlby's book, my tailor and shirtmaker know I mean business when I visit them. The book is also very easy to read and entertaining. My favorite chapter is: To Soap or Not to Soap. And one of my lady friends who have read this book recommends this chapter to most men. Serge BarrantesFinancial Futures Trader

5.0 out of 5 stars The book that changed my life, November 11, 2000

This review is from: You Are What You Wear (Business and casual style in a 'clicks and mortar' world) (Paperback)
Dear Mr. Thourlby,Thank you for your wonderful no-nonsense guide, You Are What You Wear. I bought a copy of it in a used book store and it has paid off immensely in increased self-esteem, increased respect, and increased income.Like many others I never gave a thought to what clothing "says" about a person.Color, style, cut, materials, now all seem to "talk" since you have given them a voice.Thank you for making the unspoken words of clothing visible. I now ask, "What does this tie, shirt, coat, hat, etc. say? Before I will put it on.I just bought your book, "Passport To Power", (full price I might add) and hope I enjoy it as much as the other book. Are you still teaching your course at Emory? I would love to attend it.
