You'll be hooked once you hear Lisa Dewey's voice!,

This review is from: Busk (Audio CD)
I was, and still am, every time I hear her beautiful music! I have two of her other albums (Lola Cuki & Weather Changer Girl), and she gets better and better every time. Her vocals are dreamy & amazing and the music will take you to another place in time. You can feel her pain and pleasure and get a great sense of the artist herself. She's been compared to the Cocteau Twins, the Cranberries, the Sundays, and Throwing Muses - I say she's a mix of all of these, but she definitely has her own style that is not to be forgotten! I have been waiting for this album to come out and I am very excited to have it finally. I knew I wouldn't be dissappointed - I never am with Lisa Dewey!

"...Crazy thoughts keep running through my head...",
By A Customer
This review is from: Busk (Audio CD)
i arrived home one day after having one of those frustrating days at work and noticed a package in the mail from amazon.com - 'right on! finally, some new music to listen to.'let's get right to the point: i was NOT in the mood to hear something shallow nor minimal. so, after impatiently tearing the delivered package open (with delight, of course:) and looking through the selection of music available, i chose without hesitation. i fed 'Busk' to the CD player and cranked up the volume. wow! from the first song, i was singing (i can't sing, but it didn't stop me from trying) along with the chorus part not realizing that the 'crazy thoughts' from my crappy day just sailed away.

She finds her own voice,

This is easily her best CD up until this point. As long as she works with Simon Raymonde her music will inevitably recall the Cocteau Twins. But I feel that she's found a distinct voice on this one, as compared to previous albums.I also think the songwriting is simply better and the overall production more fully realized instead of simply being draped with glistening reverbs.
