|I|nstallation of this keyboard is as easy as plugging in a mini usb device that comes with it. |||||||Unfortunately, as you can see, when I use the caps key sometimes it leaves bars in the text. |Not all the time but frequently. Haven't contacted the seller yet but will add to this review after its replaced. The touch is great, the size is good, doesn't have all the buttons and whistles to clutter the keyboard and is well made.

I had been unsuccessfully trying to find a reliable keyboard-mouse combo for my home theater to replace an excellent old Logitech setup that had died after many years of service. A new Logitech keyboard-mouse combo proved less than satisfactory because of poor quality of the mousel. The new Logitech keyboard wasn't as nice as the old one, but I continued to use it with a succession of wireless mice. My biggest problem is radio frequency interference (RFI) in my work area that resulted in frequent communication failure with the mouse and intermittent failure with the keyboard as well. The I-Rocks combo has solved my problems. The keyboard is low-profile but has the full set of keys in the usual arrangement. Only the top row of function keys is undersized. The keys have a short stroke and a subtle tactile feel that I like. The keyboard runs on two standard AA batteries. The I-Rock's white keyboard is much easier to read in dim light than the black ones that have become standard. Its rectangular shape lets me stand it on end when I want to get it out of the way, unlike the highly styled, rounded keyboards that have become typical. I use the keyboard on my lap and my only, very minor point deduction is for the somewhat hard-edged lower lip around the keyboard's edge. The mouse is not as satisfactory as the keyboard, but it will do. It's a little smaller than my favorite sized mice (I have average adult male hands). The main left and right mouse buttons are just OK in tactile feel. The scroll wheel is a little high but works well. It also functions as a third button, a function I rarely use. The mouse is intended for right hand use and has a pair of secondary buttons on the thumb side which are not too much in the way but are still a bit too easy to click accidentally. The mouse uses one standard AA battery. As others have noted, the mouse does not have the smarts to turn itself off when not being used, so battery life will be reduced unless one remembers to manually switch the mouse off. The switch is easy to use, but there is no visible power light on the top of the mouse (a plus in a HT room) so it's easy to forget to turn the mouse off when you're done with it. The system's radio receiver is a single small dongle that plugs into any USB port. I'm using a USB extension cable to get the dongle closer to the mouse - the dongle is about two feet away from the mouse - which prevents communication problems in my noisy RF environment. The USB connection is to a KVM that switches between three PCs (running XP and Vista) and a Mac. All the computers recognized and configured themselves to work with the I-Rocks setup without any additional driver installation. Of course the Mac needed its usual "press the key..." routine when presented with a new keyboard. I haven't been using the setup long enough to get a read on typical battery life, but I'm using rechargeable NiMH AAs that I normally recharge every month or two anyway.
