David Cohen has been in sales and marketing since 1986. In 1999 a career and life shift occurred and he began to coach and train small business owners and hasn't looked back. Since then, David has taught over 1500 clients through various government sponsored small business and economic development learning initiatives and programs. He's also spoken at conferences, trade shows and business networking groups. He's a dynamic speaker and coach that speaks from the heart and soul.
Today, David is a business coach and facilitator working with new business start-ups in the Ontario Self Employment Benefit program in Whitby and he has headed up the Entrepreneurship Training Programs for Newcomers to Canada at the Learning Enrichment Foundation. He also does work with Future Watch a leading Environmental learning organization.
Currently, David is teaching at Microskills and the women's entrepreneur program, Job Skills and Youth Employment Services.
His specialty is in teaching sales and marketing programs...and leads a compelling sales/business development program centered around a " 6 Step Sales Process"...and somehow he makes the notion of following a process fun, creative and engaging.
David is a sought after coach and speaker in both the non-profit and for profit business organizations as well.
David was also the host and producer of the Small Business Big Ideas Radio Show from its startup eight years ago (August 17th, 2002) on CKDO 1580 AM and 107.7 FM in Oshawa and online on "Radio That Doesn't Suck" dot com from May 2011 to June 2012...he is proud as "punch" to release Bust Out-Ignite your inner entrepreneur.
As an accidental entrepreneur David Cohen's book caught my attention.
Navigating the joys and tribulations of self-employment can be a hazardous journey filled with many moments of doubt. Am I doing the right thing? Can I succeed? Should I just get a job?
David's heart-centred advice encourages boomer entrepreneurs to keep pushing forward, to pursue their dreams and to overcome the challenges. He honestly portrays the reality of self-employment (no it is not always easy, no you probably will not have overnight success) and the rewards, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining balance in all areas of your life.
There is a lot of great advice and wisdom in this book.
I highly recommend it for all budding or seasoned entrepreneurs.
This book is a great resource for anyone thinking of starting a small business. David Cohen shares years of wisdom and inspiration in Bust Out: Ignite Your Inner Entrepreneur. He covers everything from how to build a business based on your passion, and why that is important, to what it takes to put a solid plan together. The book also delves into how to have meaning sales conversations. It is written in an easy to read format. You'll feel like David is speaking directly to you.
