BUY THIS ALBUM!,
By Sian Ellaby (NC, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Busted (Audio CD)
I first heard of Busted on my holiday to England. I bought their album after a friend recommended it, and fell in love before the first song was even over. All the songs are amazing, and I can tell Busted will be around for a long time!1.)What I Go To School For- Great song about a schoolboy crush on his teacher. Best line in the song "I fought my way to front of class, to get the best view of her ..." 2.)You Said No-also known as Crash and Burn, this song has a catchy beat, and funny lyrics. 3.)Britney-dedicated to pop Princess, Britney Spears. Lyrics include titles of popular Britney and *N Sync tunes- "You say that you're not a girl, I'll make you a woman." 4.)Losing You-Beautiful slow song, and Charlie's voice will make you melt! 5.)Year 3000-song about a trip in a time machine to the year 3000, and what life is like...living underwater with triple-breasted women! 6.)Psycho Girl-strange, but funny slow song about a psychotic girlfriend. 7.)All The Way-I'm sure many teenage boys can relate to this song about girls who aren't willing to go "all the way." 8.)Sleeping With The Light On-My favorite slow song on the album, beautiful lyrics and amazing acoustic guitar. 9.)Dawson's Geek-Poking fun at someone a little overly obsessed with Dawson's Creek. 10.)When Day Turns Into Night-another beautiful slow song. 11.)Everything I Knew-pretty upbeat song about life after love. 12.)Without You-great slow song, but the beginning a little freaky with just the sound of one of the guys breathing 13.)Interlude-not to sure the point of this song...just a 30 second guitar solo. 14.)Loser Kid-one of the best songs on the album, about life as a loser "No one took the time to know me, the kick me sign was always on me." All in all, a great album, that you should DEFINITLY buy!!!

Busted - "Even their name is excellent!",
By Katrina-UK (Stockport, Cheshire, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews

2003 has been a rollercoaster of a ride for Busted. They have just gone into orbit! They are huge now, not only in the UK, but in various other countries too, with both guys and girls. The music industry has recognised their talent and they are now WINNING AWARDS for best new act etc.I bought this pop/punk album last year (2002). The first time I saw the music video of 'What I Go To School For', that was it, I wanted MORE! They blend humour with teen angst and colourful imaginative videos. This album is a fantastic and very funny portrayal of teenage life, very cleverly written by the three guys themselves (Charlie, Matt and James - all gorgeous by the way!) ALTHOUGH AIMED AT TEENS, I'M IN MY 20'S AND I LOVED IT! The album is full of great songs (Upbeat and ballad). As far as 'boy bands' go, this is definitely the best British 'boy band'. They are up-to-date, sing in a pop/punk style and they play their own instruments. I look forward to their second album which is released in the UK next month and also hope they have a go at the States because I'm sure they would do well. Their sound and style definitely stand out.

Busted is Incredible,
This review is from: Busted (Audio CD)
Busted was probably one of the best British bands in the world. For everyone that didn't like them, you all like extremely dull music. The group Busted, while some people mentioned they were unable to determine the genre, is considered Rock. Busted sounds very punk/pop/rock, a great combination, and is considered by some people to be the "British Blink 182". Some other reviewers mentioned that Busted didn't have a drummer in all their videos and it appeared the music came from nowhere. In a recording studio, you can play more than one instrument because you only record one instrument at a time, for all of those people that didn't know. All the members of Busted are extremely talanted and I happen to know that Charlie Simpson, the tallest member of busted, can play the drums, bass, guitar, and piano, which proves that these guys are just extremely talanted. Busted isn't a "boyband" no matter what you think. A "boyband" is a group of guy singers that can only sing and dance and look "pretty". Busted may dress great but they aren't a boyband, even one of the singers said they weren't a boyband because if they were, they would be dancing. Busted is British. You can occasionally tell when they are singing that they are british, and when most british people sing anyway, you don't hear any british accent. Busted songs are not "rubish" as another reveiwer mentioned. I seriously could keep going on with a million different reasons why you people that don't like this band gave your mental reviews about how they aren't songs and the songs have no content. They do have content, you just must be unable to understand the content in the song, although I find it simple. I can't keep going on like this because telling all the people that wrote bad reviews the truth is not worth my time. Buy this album, it is amazing music that I think will be popular for a long time, even though the group sadly broke up. This CD is amazing and totally worth it.

I absoutly love this CD. I fell in love with them when i was in London last april. I think im the only person in the states that loves them. I keep this CD in my car at all times and whenever im feeling sad I put it in and crank up "What I Go to School For", it just makes me so upbeat and happy. You should definatly buy this. I know it is expensive for us Americans but it is SO worth it!!!

An image AND a band,
By Toby Matthews "posh, privately educated and E... (Guildford, Surrey, England) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Busted (Audio CD)
Judging by the reviews currently written for this album it should be clear to all that you will either love or hate Busted.... a bit like Marmite (Don't know if u guys get that on your side of the pond?).
If you like the band then it shows that u are not afraid to immerse yourself in this pop/rock where every song sounds eerily similar and the band does not have a drummer visible in the majority of it's videos. If you do not like the band then it shows that it is just not your thing and you prefer more 'traditional' forms of rock music. Neither one of these is a bad thing, they are just a difference of opinion and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem with Busted is that they fit into no specific genre. Their generic instability lies in the contradiction between the bands set up and their image. They play their instruments and sing live like a rock band, however they dress in a similar fashion and, according to a few female friends of mine, are rather good looking chaps, this means that they are like a boy band. The band fall into neither category and it is this that makes their appeal so unique. I have mentioned in the review title that I am posh. You may be wondering why I have mentioned this for an album review? It is because it is the posh side of me that finds Busted so appealing. I am from Guildford in Surrey, which is basically the poshest town in the poshest county in England, and it was here that Busted played their first ever gig. The band are all from middle class backgrounds and it is this that makes it very easy for me and my friends to relate to them. I enjoy listening to Busted because I see them as an image as well as a band. So, if you like posh boys from England, then you will like Busted and all the catchy pop/rock songs that they have cultivated!

Busted?!,
By Mattie's Starlet (England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Busted (Audio CD)
Like most people when Busted first arrived sometime last year, I thought, "Oh no, not another boy-band...". "What I Go To School For" didn't grip me, neither did "Year 3000", but I was pleasantly surprised by their debut album, which I bought after falling in love with "You Said No".Of course, Busted never claim to be a tough, rock or indie band, they'd be the first to admit that they're pure pop. Busted remind me of Blink 182, similar cheeky lyrics and a guitar driven sound. Busted co-wrote every single track on the album, and they all play their own instruments, so they deserve credit for this at least, a trait which puts them above most pop groups who rely on writers and backing tracks. It doen't hurt that the Busted boys are totally lush either! (Sorry, excuse me while I drool over Mattie!) Anyway, enough of the waffle. Busted are obviously not to everyone's taste, but check them out. Album highlights for me include the gorgeousness of both "Without You" and "When The Day Turns Into Night", and the cheeky "Britney" (complete with a distorted "mehy", a la Britney herself), and the funky "Loser Kid". I totally rcommend this album.

This is quite possibly the worst album ever,
By Matt (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Busted (Audio CD)
The worst album by the worst band...i know the Busted boys...they live in the area. And i hate to break this to you guys but James is the only one who can remotely play the guitar. Matt dont know a thing about the bass, charlie plays the drums only and not very good at that...and they dont write their own lyrics. This is depressing. I hope we get out of this whole boy band/ girl band/ pop crap soon because it will bring the destruction of the music industry. You need music like hendrix, the beatles, some ska punk thrown in there, some hard rock and some decent hip hop n rap...thats music...not this pop b/s. The only ppl hu are gunna by this is 12 yr olds and below...Theyll soon grow out of it...i hope.

When will the music industry learn?,
By "lukefun" (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Busted (Audio CD)
Ever since Hendrix, Lennon and Cobain have died, the music industry has been going downhill. This band proves it. The only decent track on this album is Britney, and thats only because its about every boy's dream: To meet Britney spears. All the other tracks are about impossible stuff (aka: going out with a teacher and going to the year 3000). Well, you can buy this CD, but you'll much prefer "Electric Ladyland" by Jimi Hendrix, "Abbey Road" by the Beatles and "In Utero" by Nirvana.
