5.0 out of 5 stars I was in this movie
I hadn't thought about this movie for some time. I was in this movie. I was a King County deputy (outside Seattle) at the time working off duty for set security on this movie and was invited to be in it. I am one of the two cops (the one with all the hair) at the end of the movie confronting Richard Pryor. It was very interesting being involved in this movie. I got to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny in a very heartwarming way
Richard Pryor is at his best as he drives a group of kids across country in an old school bus. It starts out as a punishment but he gets taken in by the kids and their problems.

I got to meet Cycely and Richard Pryor and actually small talk for a bit with them between scenes. As far as the movie itself - I enjoyed it. It is funny and actually touching in parts. There were parts of this movie that were redone at a later date to "soften" it up some for the new improved Pryor (after his accident). The kids in this movie were great and some of them were actually disabled to some degree. Yes, I agree it would be interesting to see how some of the kids are doing now..24 yrs later. By the way, I don't have all the hair anymore. It is interesting to watch a movie filmed in your home area. Watch this movie...it is worth it. Sherlock

5.0 out of 5 stars Showstopping, November 28, 2003

This movie was funny, and made for everyone. I would be happy to
share it with my daughter. One of the few movies Richard stars in for a kid crowd. Ms.Tyson plays the mother role to perfection
with all the childrens roles shining. I think this movie was a
big hit for foster children. It showed the system in a funny way.
Again, it was so funny. I think every home should own this movie. Richard of old, with the funny for all time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keep your Goodtimes version (the first release of this DVD), August 25, 2008
By
Rykre "The Rogue Scholar" (of the vast Western Dystopian Wasteland) - See all my reviews

The Goodtimes version is released in the "full screen" version. This newer re-issue is said to be the "widescreen" version (1.85). But, here's what you really get:

I've watched them both, side by side. You don't get the original theatrical widescreen version. This newer release is the "fullscreen" version (where the sides are already cut off) and now with the top and bottom cut off to create a "simulated" widescreen version. So, this film has never yet been released on DVD in the true original theatrical widescreen version. Now, what this version gives you is like a small box view from the middle of the whole intended frame. The sides and the top and bottom cut off.

This movie is my favorite movie, it makes me life but it also keeps lifes blessings in perspective. I am not a person that likes to watch movies over and over again, but this is the best. This movie so funny you will be laughing hours later over the realism and perfection of acting. The kids in this movie where underrated during this time and should have been commended highly of their wonderful performance. This movie is what makes true legends like RICHARD PRYOR AND CICELY TYSON who they are today and forever will have the effects on America.

This movie is wonderful

5.0 out of 5 stars bustin loose hits the spot, February 26, 2000

Very heartwarming, funny, and (at times) realistic movie.... the movie does not shy from issues such as fire setting and molest... while the movie teaches the viewer a lesson about life... best of all is the music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Comedy at it's best!, January 1, 2011
This review is from: Bustin Loose (DVD)
This is one of my favorite all time movies! It's funny, and real. The situations the kids lived with are real problems. My sisters and I would watch this movie over and over again. If you love Richard Pryor, then this should be on your list of favorites! Buy this movie, you will not regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Bustin Loose" with Richard Pryor, July 11, 2008
This review is from: Bustin' Loose (DVD)
This movie is hilarious & entertaining. Its fun & was an enjoyment to watch. I bought this movie for a friend after he asked for it as a birthday present. I saw it first on television. I loved it so much that I had to go out & buy it. The ending of the movie was perfect & was similar to what I would call a fairy tale ending.
