5.0 out of 5 stars QUICK, EASY AND YUMMY!!
I bought this cookbook about a week and 1/2 ago. I have cooked out of it nonstop (breakfast, lunch and dinner) since I received it. If you are looking to eat low fat and not give up taste, and not spend a lot of time in the kitchen, this book is it!!!! The recipes are super easy (all 30 minutes or less, and 7 ingredients or less), and all very low fat and good! My...

3.0 out of 5 stars Recipes are okay
The recipes are quick and easy, but they tend to use a lot of the same ingredients - chicken, rice, noodles, etc. There are also not a lot of vegetables involved and I love vegetables. If you're a "meat and potatoes" kind of person, though, the you'd probably like the recipes. I prefer the AHA low fat, low cholesterol cookbooks even though the recipes take a bit longer...

I recommend the pineapple snack cake, it takes 2 minutes to make, 20 minutes to bake and tastes just like pineapple upside down cake with only 1 gram of fat!!!! Try this book, it is worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great low fat recipes that are easy!, March 20, 2005
This review is from: Busy People's Low-Fat Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
I have never made anything from this cookbook that was not delicious. I have enjoyed having it and I use it religiously to stay on my diet. Using Dawn Hall's recipes I have lost 30lbs. since January. I recommend all of her cookbooks to my friends, but this one is great to get started with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs up from a bachelor cook, February 4, 2006
This review is from: Busy People's Low-Fat Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
I freely admit most of the time I cook out of necessity rather than for pleasure. I've found this book to be extremely helpful in my struggle to keep myself fed, happy, and healthy. All of the recipes meet my requirements for simple cooking: they're quick and easy, they don't require a lot of exotic ingredients, and, for the most part, they taste good. I also appreciate the fact that all recipes list nutritional information; that's a big advantage during those periods (alas, rather rare) when I find myself in the "healthy eating" mode.

If you want to impress friends, family, and significant others with culinary masterworks, you'd probably do better to look elsewhere for your inspiration. If you want simple, quick, and inexpensive meals for nights in the middle of the week, this book is an excellent resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars tasty, easy-to-prepare low-fat meals, April 21, 1999
By A Customer
Busy People's Low-Fat Cookbook by Dawn Hall. Cozy Homestead Publishing, Ohio. 1998. 288 pp. hardcover, spiral-bound interior. illustrations; index.

Hall's cooking experience and imagination can make treats out of the most familiar foods. Adding fat-free cream cheese, a fat-free butter spread, and skim milk to mashed potatoes, she makes Mashed Potatoes Deluxe. With the addition of a sauce of mustard, fat-free sour cream, and dill weed, spring asparagus becomes especially tasty. Satisfying, filling vegetarian chili is but one other of Hall's recipes among the 240 recipes in her cookbook. Health-conscious individuals, especially ones looking to control or lose weight, could not do better than to turn to Hall's numerous healthful, easy-to-prepare meals. With each recipe, in addition to preparation and ingredients, she notes time to prepare (under 15 minutes in nearly every case) and calories, fat, cholesterol, and sodium. There's recipes for every part of a meal, from appetizers through soups and entrees to desserts. Hall was an aerobic instructor and facilitator for W.O.W. (Watching Our Weight, which holds classes and provides information on a low-fat lifestyle) whose enthusiasm for good health and eating right is inspirational.

I work a full time job and I hate to cook. But my husband also works a full time job and wants to eat. I just LOVE Dawn's books! Fast and Easy and Taste good. That's what my husband and I want. He wants good food and I want it to be fast and easy. I don't know how Dawn has come up with so many recipes. Her mind must be turning every second of the day. Thank goodness I've discovered her cookbooks! Thanks Dawn!!

This is a tried and true book in my kitchen. Anytime I need a quick recipe, this one never fails to please. All of the recipes are easy [7 ingredients or less] and make even my four year old happy!! How can you go wrong with Blueberry Crumb Cake, Harvest Ham Steaks, Mexican Spaghetti, and Cinnamon Drops?? Thank you Dawn for bringing some sanity to dieting--no complex instructions or impossible to pronounce ingredients here!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Keeping it Simple, August 3, 2005
By
This review is from: Busy People's Low-Fat Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
When I'm on a diet, I like to try new recipes, but that doesn't mean that I like to make a bunch of floofy, fancy stuff with names that I can't pronounce. It seems like any cookbook I see anymore has to make things look decorative and difficult. This book keeps it simple (and sometimes a little silly), but very good. They look like the recipes that I already make for myself, just this gives you so many more ideas. If you're planning on cooking for more than just your family or yourself, this may not be the book for you, but if you want something very easy, very simple, and tasty too--then here you go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it - YUM!, July 19, 2000
By A Customer
I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend. The recipes are easy and call for a lot of low-fat/fat free products that you already have in your pantry. Most are easy and quick to make and very tasty. So far, I am very satisfied with each of the recipes I have tried.... There was a time that I would have shyed away from fat free products, but they have improved so much, that I can't tell the difference. I never thought I would ever admit liking fat free sour cream, or fat free whipped cream. Try it, folks, and I can guarantee you will like it.

Great for a young person who does not like to cook or spend alot of time in the kitchen because receipes only use a few uncomplicated ingredients, and taste great especially for people who need to loose weight but don't want to give up favorite foods like chicken nuggets, pizza, and cheese cake these recipes taste just as good, it's the main cookbook I use to cook for my family, my parents have lost 50 lbs and don't really feel like they are dieting
