Purchased this for an old rifle I cleaned up and stored. It works great and really solved the hassle of finding the correct sized caps for the scope. I would imagine that in the "field" it would have to be pocketed while sighting, but I made a "fishing" leader cable for it and attached it to my sling fore ring. I think that will keep me from losing it somewhere out in the woods and not interfere with shooting or slinging.

For most scopes, this is the ultimate lens cover. It is sturdy, made of just the right material, and foolproof.
Although it is extremely appropriate for the average scope, I have a slight warning for those who might want this for larger scopes. I tried it out on a 40mm scope, 13 inches long, and it was a TIGHT fit and rather difficult to put on. Don't get me wrong, it will work fine for these larger scopes and would be as easily and quickly pulled off in case of fast usage, but putting it back on is a small challenge.

Ideal for scopes under 12 inches and 32mm objectives or less. When you need to use it, just grab the tab on one end, lift and immediately pull off. No noise and no fuss or muss. I do highly recommend, for hunting, that you find some way of attaching a safety line to it and some part of your scope mounts so that you don't drop it and forget it in the excitement and heat of bagging you're game. Attaching it to the side of a scope mount (on the opposite side the bolt for bolt action rifles) should help keep it out of the way.

I am now ordering a couple more of these for my other rifles. The price can't be beat for what you get!

This does the job of keeping dirt and moisture off of the lenses and sure beats trying to keep up with those pesky lens caps. I didn't give it a 5 star because I think the lens cup could have been a little "more full" in design so it would be easier to get it on and stay on. I have a cheap, small 3X9 scope and the eye piece cap especially could have been a little bigger as it feel like it could just slingshot off sometimes. Over all, I would buy again but it's not made for a larger scope.

This bikini scope cover fills the bill.- The flip-up covers that came with the scope I use ,was driving me crazy. This is simpler ,less problems while sighting in. Never gets in the way. May be ordering another in the near future' And thank you Amazon, for another succesful transaction.

If you are like me then you have lost a lot of lens covers over the years- they drop off the scope, fall out of your pocket, or you just leave them laying around and do not remember where. Then it is a hassle to get the O.D. of both ends of the scope and try to find a replacement pair that fits. That's what I like about this cover- it provides a water and dirt proof seal to almost any scope with no measuring or guessing. Plus, with the two stretch band retainers there is no way that this is ever going to come off by accident.

One small thing- with a smaller scope where the objective is smaller than the ocular you might be tempted to reverse the cover and put the smaller cup forward. The smaller cup is the one with the pull tab on it. If you get in a hurry, or have wet or numb fingers, then there is a chance that you will shoot yourself in the face with the cover while removing it- like a slingshot...

I lost the covers for my rifle scopes years ago and I researched replacements for a week before settling on the Butler Creek Bikini covers. They fit perfectly on all the scopes I have (which vary in size) and protect the glass amazingly well. I will be certain to buy more covers whenever I get new scopes.

Just what was needed, always keep the glass covered when not actually shooting! This works well.

Good quality, good price, but it doesn't want to stretch long enough to fit my scope with the sun shade on it. Just fine with out the sun shade. My scope is a 4x12x44.

Ok.. so these are great if you don't leave them on the scope for long periods. I bought these and then popped them on my Scopes whilst I went on a 6month trip. When I returned to find that they had perished but still holding together I was disappointed.

These were new out of the Packet, had no solvent or cleaning products on them and were kept in a gunsafe the whole time.

Maybe I should have oiled them?

If you're tired of the elastic string held scope covers that come from the factory, this is an awesome solution. No more broken or stretched out strings. Robber is thick enough to give some decent impact protection. I'll be buying more for all my scopes.
