4.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars while it works
Have bought 4 of these. It is brilliant while it works. Perfectly spreadable butter, rather than the rock from the fridge or the oil when left out. Unfortunately the first 4 that I bought packed up after a few months. But just can't do without it. Am buying another. Hope the manufacturers will take note - it doesn't last a year, but, living in the West Indies, return is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Awesome idea, August 18, 2009
This temperature controlled butter dish is a fabulous idea!! I love it and so does my whole family. However, the motor burns out after about 6 months. I had bought our first one after seeing it advertised on TV. It keeps the butter cool but soft and for a family that loves toast it is wonderful. But after about six months the fan started making noise followed by the cooling system failure.

I thought maybe it was just this particular unit and promptly ordered a second one. Once again after about 6 months the unit started making strange sounds followed by failure of the unit to stay cool.

If the price was more reasonable say 9.99. I wouldn't mind having to order a new one every six months but at a $50.00 price point for six months of spreadable butter I will go back to softening in the mircrowave!!!

Now received the 5th and it is working wonderfully so far. Notice the voltage/transformer/electrics have been changed, so live in hope that this one will last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect butter all the time, great invention., July 26, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you use butter on a daily basis you will love this item. Never again melted butter on the counter in a hot kitchen, or rock hard from the refrigerator...fresh and perfect spreading consistency all day everyday. This model is a great improvement on the previous model...no delicate, breakable charging pins. I hope my kitchen will never be without one of these. Thank you to whoever invented this.

I love the Butter Wizard, and am now buying #2, because #1 died...but it took 2 years to die, so I'm very happy to purchase another. After reading the other reviews, maybe I got lucky with mine lasting as long as it did, but I'll never be without one. The butter is perfectly spreadable--winter or summer.

I have read the reviews from previous purchasers and so far this unit has worked as advertised
it has only been 3 weeks so will have to see how it holds up but I am very pleased
with the performance and really enjoy having my butter spreadable in the morning

5.0 out of 5 stars Geat Gift, October 27, 2011

I purchased one of these unites for myself and love it. I am one of those people that keep my butter out all the time. This unit keeps it at the correct temp no matter what the house temp is. I loved it so much I bought one as a gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Butter Wizard, August 11, 2011

This little gadget does exactly what it claims. It keeps my butter at a perfect spreadable consistency, and I can change the temp to make it harder or softer when I feel like it. Couldn't ask for more.

3.0 out of 5 stars New improvement on the design side., June 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ButterWizard 60018 Temperature-Controlled Portable Butter Dish with Lid, Silver/White (Kitchen)
The device works fine, butter is kept at the right temperature at all time. The only two thing I would improve is the design and the size, it's kind of a big box for just holding the butter, smaller case would be enough to hold one standard butter cube. Regarding the design, the box is really ugly and seems like a cheep design.

5.0 out of 5 stars BUTTER BLESSING (is there room for 6 stars?), June 6, 2011

What an absolute blessing. Years ago I bought a refrigerator with a butter conditioner in it. Since then I have tried to find another and found out that they don't make them any more. Further investigation led me to this ButterWizard. It is marvelous. Actually, it's better than the refrigerator one because I can keep it plugged in right where I make toast and sandwiches, etc. By the way, I live in Trinidad where it is always HOT so if I leave the butter out at room temperature all I get is an awful oily mess. With the ButterWizard I get butter just at ther right consistency for spreading. It is an absolute necessity. Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Butter Wizard, February 18, 2011

This review is from: ButterWizard 60018 Temperature-Controlled Portable Butter Dish with Lid, Silver/White (Kitchen)
I heard about a temperature controlled butter dish from my sister, who was on holiday visiting me in Western Australia from Ireland. She couldn't believe that Oz didn't sell them because of the heat. I thought she was making it up. We tried a few shops but to no avail and no one had even heard of them.
I got on to Amazon and got it sent over from America.
It is brillant..... no more putting butter in the microwave to soften and leaving it in to long to get clarified butter or the weather is so hot so it has to go in the fridge and goes rock hard.
It just sits on my bench and does a brillant job, perfect butter every time, in whatever heat. I can't believe they don't have them here.
I did read other reviews about them dying after 6 months but I hope that won't happen, I noticed it has a fan underneath and air vents at the side so I have it where air is circulating all the time. Time will tell but I am extremely happy.
Cheers SharonA
