The Best CD I Own,
By Adam See (Ont, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Butterfly Collection (Audio CD)
i am a respectable AFI fan, their my favorite band and i love ever part of their music. I got into the Nerve Through AFI and now own all of their cds. This cd is amazing. I believe its their best cd, its full of talent from all the members and great lyrical content as well. Favorite songs include: Madame Butterfly, War Against, Princess Jasmine Of Tinseltown, The Vice Of Mrs. Grosly, The Poisoning, and What Then. If your new to the Nerve Agents start here, or with their self-titled EP. They rock so hard.

Most Amazing Band!,

This album is a wonderful next step for the Agents. They have developed a loyal fan base and i know that all the kids who go to all the shows like myself have been anticipating this. They keep their sound going strong while at the same time adding in new elements like the piano track. This album is amazing especially tracks like frost, vice of mrs. grossly, and new jersey though all the tracks are great. This album definetley is 5 stars.

All of the nerve agent albums are very good. They are fast and heavy. The vocals are loud fast screams. The drums are great; mostly rolls, no boring/simple beats, and he is fast and talented as hell. The bass is funky and dosen't just sit in the background doing nothing. The guitars are very interesting, They use lots of harmonics and full chords, Not just power chord after power chord.
Heavy, fast, and unique hardcore punk music. I am not a big fan of punk music at all I am into Metal/hardcore metal, But I love the nerve agents.

It gets stranger...,

I recommend all of these guys' albums. Here it goes a little beyond hardcore; songs are longer, lyric subject matter is even more obscure, and the changes in the songs are even more unpredictable. For the most part still a fast, angry, loud hardcore album out of Cali. Upon further inspection ... I would say that this album reminds me a little of a Bl'ast record ... weird Black Flag-esque time changes.

Another level for the nerve agents,

This album is a little different from their others, but the intensity is there. Every person in this band gets better and better every time I see them play, and on this album they're even better. I can't wait for their next show, because every time they play the go off, and a lot of the songs on Butterfly Collection are songs that already get me pumped and I haven't seen them play them yet. If you're a nerve agent's fan you should buy this and if you're a punk fan you should already have this.Later, Hardcore to the next level

Nerve Agents strike again!,

As far as I'm concerned, this band could do no wrong during their short time together, and this record stands as their last, though it's definitely not a decline from their previous material. This time around, the songs are a bit longer, a bit more complex (and that's probably why I'll always have a soft spot for the more straight-ahead power and energy of "Days of the White Owl"), but don't really let up on the intensity from their previous efforts. Even though this band broke up a couple of years ago, I think anyone interested in punk or hardcore should check out The Nerve Agents, who, while they didn't break any new ground, proved to be one of the best and most fun of the genre.
