Song From the Sorority Bathroom,
By
This review is from: The Butterfly Effect (Score) (Audio CD)
I don't actually own this cd, but in response to a previous reviewer's question, the name of the song playing when Evan is walking to the bathroom in the sorority house is called "My Elastic Eye" by The Chemical Brothers.

I thought the score to this film was really beautiful. My favorite tracks are "Jason's Funeral", "Kayleigh's Funeral", and "Evan Kills Tommy". All the tracks are really good. I just wish an album of the film's other music had been released. However, for everyone looking for the names of the songs in the film, you can find them on the Internet Movie Database's site for the film. Here is the URL to that site: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289879/soundtrack

Really add to the film,

I always think that the score and soundtrack to a film can really make it. I mean if a film has a poor soundtrack and I don't like the songs/music used then it can spoil it a little, whereas if the soundtrack and score is really good it can make me like the film more even if the film isn't that great.
Anyhoo, I thought this film was superb and the score just added to it. The last scene with the good memories couple with the music used over it was one of the saddest I've scene in movie. I highly recommend buying the score and the movie. Oh and to writers below, the songs used in the two alternate endings were 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' by Oasis and 'In My PLace' by Coldplay. I believe the song played in the basement is Korns 'Cry For You'.

Song played during candlelight dinner,
By Hula Girl (Topeka, Ks USA) - See all my reviews

I was also interested in the song that played during the candlelight dinner. I was disappointed when the soundtrack was only a score, but I did some checking around and that song is by Jimmy Eat World. It's called "Hear You Me." I hope that helps everyone else that was wondering about it.

Good, not great,

I have heard some of the album, overall the music is good, but I have to say that "Kayleigh's Funeral" is by far the best on the soundtrack.Just a correction to "A music fan's" comment, the Oasis song played at the end of the movie is called "Stop Crying Your Heart Out", which can be found on their Heathen Chemistry album.

Hear You Me By Jimmy Eat World,
By
This review is from: The Butterfly Effect (Score) (Audio CD)
The song with lyrics of "never said thank you for that" is titled "Hear you Me" by Jimmy Eat World. I love this song.
There's no one in town I know You gave us some place to go I never said thank you for that I thought I might get one more chance What would you think of me now, So lucky, so strong, so proud I never said thank you for that Now I'll never have a chance May angels lead you in Hear you me my friends On sleepless roads, the sleepless go May angels lead you in...................... And if you were with me tonight, I'd sing to you just one more time. A song for a heart so big, god wouldn't let it live. May angels lead you in. Hear you me my friends. On sleepless roads, the sleepless go May angels lead you in......................

PimpC's Review,

The movie was great, and all the instrumental music on the soundtrack is emotional and makes it a great soundtrack. In my opinion this is one of the best movies in a long time. However, the song that i wanted is after even fixes everything and is walking as an adult years later and sees kayle. For anyone that wants to know that song is by Oasis, its called cry for you or crying for you (Ive seen it labled as both names). If you saw the movie and liked it, then the soundtrack is a good choice also. Any comments? pimpc1125@aol.com peace!

One awesome, beautiful movie score.,

There aren't songs on this cd... you can find the Oasis song "Stop Crying Your Eyes Out" on one of their albums released a few years back. This is the composer's score music to this head-trip of a movie, and it's flat-out gotta be the best score of the new year so far...certainly one of the better score cds I've heard recetnly. Romantic, eerie, suspenseful, heartbreaking, this music is a great listen, capturing all the film's many moods. Soundtrack fans take note -- this Michael Suby guy is a film composer to watch! Accomplished stuff.

to those seeking,

This is just a side note to those seeking certain songs in the movie that are not on the score cd. I noticed there was a song during the film that i thought i would never hear apart from the cd it came on. The song is called "A burDens foLLy" by Argyle Park on thier first album entitled "Misguided". Its an industrial like song with lyrics repeating "Still born dead soul rotting from within" that plays during the middle of the movie when Ashens back is to the camera. I wanted to point this out because this cd is absolutely amazing...it is very hard to find either of the two Argyle Park cd s at this time...but if you like music similar to that...check out CELLDWELLER who was heavily involved with the song "A burDens foLLy".

This is the best score of the year, with stunning music and freaky as the film, yet painted a emotional image for this movie. This soundtrack perfected the film a lot by bring the music to shown the romance and suspense in this film. The only sad thing about this soundtrack is that the music just too short, mayby La La record cut down the run time to save some money, what a shame. Perhaps, the longer the score is the great joy and beauty it would shown. But this record if you are fan of John Williams, Han Zimmer or the Great James Horner. |
