This review is from: How a Butterfly Grows Puzzle (Game)
We purchased this for our daughter who was just under three and loved to put puzzles together. This puzzle builds on itself with the lowest level being a caterpillar and the top level is a butterfly. The bottom pieces are much smaller than the top and there is a clear progression by size from bottom to top, thus even if a child was unable to understand the process of growing a butterfly, they would be able to still have fun with the puzzle.
This puzzle is an all wood puzzle and our child, now 4 1/2, still brings it down to play with. Now though, she is able to explain the larval phase and how that grows to be a butterfly. So not only is a puzzle it is also an education piece and a good buy if your child likes puzzles. If your child has not started other puzzles though, I would say the added difficulty from the layering system might discourage them from this one.
