This book has beautiful color photos; it is by far the best butterfly book I own. It contains detail information and facts of many butterflies. Furthermore, is easy to locate different species and is great for all ages.

This book has great pictures and concise descriptions. I've identified a few more of my butterfly pictures that I couldn't before. It covers many of the more common butterflies well, but since there are tens of thousands of butterfly variations, don't expect any book to be exhaustive. This one does well for the task at hand.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must have for any butterfly fan!, March 16, 2009
This review is from: The Butterfly Handbook: The Definitive Reference for Every Enthusiast (Quarto Book) (Spiral-bound)
Chock full of Butterfly photos! Gorgeous book. Very close-up & detailed photo's of each butterfly pictured. Has the size, zone, ranges and protection status listed for each butterfly pictured. Also tells briefly of each breeds habitat & ecology, subspecies and other characteristics.

The book is broke into 6 sections: Introduction, Papilionidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae and Riodinidae. It also has a short glossary, index and symbol key.

A must have for a butterfly watcher or if you just admire their beauty.
