I saw this in our local bookstore and had to have it. My instincts were right, because my 19 month-old can't get enough of the beautiful illustrations and the story is just simple enough so that my four year-old can read it to her sister before bedtime. The colors used are vibrant and interesting, and the pop-up butterfly at the end is a great surprise for the young ones. Great for pre-schoolers.

The innovative design of this book and the spare text make this a fun pick for toddler groups. The photos with their die cut holes are engaging and colorful, and of course that huge pop out butterfly at the end is sure to capture any wandering eye that you might have lost along the way.

I love that that although this is a concept book about colors, it still has some basic story elements that are great for introducing very young listeners to books that not only teach, but have a beginning, middle and an end. It's rare that you find that for the very young. This is a great choice for storytime or for your toddlers library and serves as a good way to introduce a few basic colors. Recommended.

The Butterfly book is a hit! My granddaughter loves it and it is difficult to keep her from trying to take the pop up out of the book.. We are really enjoying reading it and love the design of the pages.

This is a beautiful and vibrant book that needs to be in every preschoolers library.

My toddler loved this book from the first time we read it. The illustrations are amazing, particularly the butterfly that "flies up" from the pages at the end, and the story is interesting and easy to follow. Plus, the learning component of teaching colors and types of insects is great. These kinds of amazing books are hard to find - thank you!

My twins are almost 25 months old and they absolutely positively love this book. I checked it out from the library a couple of weeks ago, and after reading it once, they started requesting it every night before bed - one night they actually refused to go to bed until we read it! I'm trying to buy a copy but I see that Amazon is out of stock. The story is simple but very engaging, and features a variety of creatures that kids can see outside on a regular basis. The illustrations and use of color are beautiful. Instead of impatiently trying to flip to the end to see the pop-up butterfly, my kids actually sit patiently and listen to the whole story as it progresses. I can't wait to add it to their library!
