4.0 out of 5 stars Fury Butterfly Knife Trainer
This is a great trainer, provided you Loctite the screws. If you don't take this precaution, expect to lose a screw after 10 minutes of flipping. If you take this precaution, you wont ever have to lose a screw. This warning applies to any butterfly knife that uses screw hinges. Don't unfairly condemn this knife. It's not the only butterfly that warrants the loctite...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's Okay....
it is a good starter trainer i guess. the only problem is the screws get loose extremely quick and if your not careful you can lose a part of it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent For The Price!, July 19, 2013

This is an all stainless steel Balisong trainer, except for the aluminum latch, which means the blade is blunt and not designed to actually cut anything, including you the user! The handles are sandwich construction rather than one piece, typical for most balisongs construction including some quite expensive ones. The handle parts and blade are nicely machined and have a bead blasted matte finish. Assembly is by the use of round head hex drive metric fasteners, not Torx ones. This allows tightening and adjustment of the assembly fasteners but for reliability the fasteners MUST BE LOCTITED TO PREVENT FREQUENT LOOSENING and potential loss.

The loosening problem is noted by several reviewers and has lead to poor ratings from them. This is an inherent problem with many knives that use screws for assembly, as many modern ones do. Due to the forces involved in Balisong "flipping" fastener loosening is even more common on Balisongs than most other knife designs. Considering the low cost of this trainer invest in some Loctite and do the job yourself before any extensive use. Otherwise it almost certainly will give problems.

The other potential problem is loosening of the pressed in tang pins which are the pins that prevent blade side movement with the handles closed together. There are two of them on this knife. These can potentially loosen. If they do I can fix things on mine as I am a hobbyist machinist and can fit replacement pins. If you cannot fix them then contact the importer to see if there is a warranty on the knife or buy another for less than $10. IMO this is a decent product for the price if given reasonable care.

If you've never used a butterfly knife before, this one is a must to learn how to open and use one without doing serious harm to parts of your body.

First it came early, so great, its all stainless steel, the blade is not just dull, its thick too so the only danger is whacking yourself, it moves very smoothly, overall, very nice item and fun :)

good quality; havent had any issues. has a dummy blade that is curved so you can differentiate where the real edge would be. Highly recommend to get as a training device

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke within a week, May 12, 2014

It broke within seven days of getting it. It's also very difficult to tighten the blade. IF you plan on getting a trainer, get something more expensive and reliable.

I used it for about a week before it broke. The pins came out of one side of the handle, rendering the whole thing useless. DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF MONEY.
