5.0 out of 5 stars teaches children not to discriminate, July 14, 2008
This review is from: Buttermilk Bear (Serendipity) (Mass Market Paperback)
i bought this book back when my daughter was very young (1982). we both loved it and read it many many times. it teaches children not to descriminate against others, be it the way they talk, or the color of their skin. a very important valuable lesson. i dont know what happened to that first copy we had, but when my first grand child was born, i decided he needed this book. and i looked high and low for it and finally found it at amazon.com. if you have small or older children or grandchildren, help them out by getting them a copy of this book, and sit down for some quiet time and read this book to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Memory, October 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Buttermilk Bear (Serendipity) (Mass Market Paperback)
She's in high school now, my daughter that is, but this was one of her favorites, and one of mine to this day. My little one would tremble in delightful fear on my back, begging me to read it over and over again....even though she'd be so afraid every time. It really struck home. Can I pass on a new one - another delightful book - I've found for my grandkids (no...not this daughter, another)? Bob Tales by Bob Morgan....new bedtime stories by a grandpa in FL.. he must have read Serendipity books too! Thanks for letting me share my memories!

Buttermilk Bear deals with racism, and how someone who's different may not be bad. Great pictures and a wonderful story.
