I got the ButtKicker Home Theater Seating Electronics Package to support some new Berkline home theater seats that I bought. I puchased the optional ButtKickers installed on the Berkline seats, but they failed to mention when I ordered the seats that I would also need this electronics package.

It turns out that it was worth the extra required expense. These ButtKickers are awesome. The first movie scene I tested was the first 20 minutes of Star Wars Episode 3 (the space battle and ship landing). WOW.

I have watched that scene numerous times, but with the BKs it is almost brand new. It really adds a lot to the experience, by allowing you to feel the on-screen action.

For example, in the scene where Anakin is landing the burning disabled ship, when the ship enters the atmosphere you can hear the engines making a steady kind of sound (hard to describe). It's kind of a quickly-pulsating sound. With the BKs, it really feels like you are riding inside the ship, because the chair you're sitting in is vibrating EXACTLY like the sound you're hearing. It is uncanny.

Getting back to the electronics package itself, the components are very high quality. The best way for me to describe them is that the components would be a good fit for even the highest-end home theaters. The amplifier is solidly-built, very heavy, and feels like it will last a long time. I was actually quite surprised by the heft of the amp.

There is plenty of wire included -- in fact it was too long for my installation, so I had to coil the remaining lengths under the seats. The wire, like the components, are top-notch quality. They use banana clips on the ends, with thick guage wire. It is like using high-end Monster speaker wire.

The package includes wireless transmitters, although in my installation I did not need them. However, it's good knowing that if I change my setup I have the option of using the wireless capability.

Lastly, the signal distributor, which routes the effect to the seats, is another solidly-built component. However, it is the one component I would change. In my opinion it should have the ability to individually turn seats on and off, with a push button for each seat. Instead, it has a dial that you turn to the number of seats in your setup. It's not intended to change, because the instructions say that if you change the number of seats you need to "reboot" everything. (turn all BK components on and off)
