Great for my cats November 16, 2009
By Kelly G

The biggest contributing factor for me purchasing this particular clicker was because it states it can be clicked from nearly any position. In the times I've used it so far that is always the case. It is very easy to hold in my hand (I'm only 5'1" and have small hands for an average female) and click in my palm.

It is the perfect loudness for my two cats even though one typically does not like sudden noises.

I like that this clicker has a section on the end for a key chain or string if you choose to use one.

Thus far I find no negatives about this clicker.

Awesome October 24, 2010

I had this and it was a good investment for dog training. If it doesn't work you are probably the one to blame, this does what it was made to do: MARK THE BEHAVIOR

Too quiet. March 25, 2011
Color Name:BLACK|Amazon Verified Purchase
I believe that if your dog is already clicker trained with the black box shaped metal clicker, and is expecting to hear the click, then you will appreciate switching to something that is quieter to use. It does sit in my hand comfortably. My husband loves it and drives me crazy with it sometimes because it is sort of fun to do (if you are a fidgety kind of person).

I don't really like it for training purposes for my dogs. Before I started clicker training, I had already taught one of my pups (now age 6) several commands. She is very calm and obedient and she loves training time. When I began to use the clicker and attempted clicker training, I had my dog I'd already trained, and a new puppy, age 3 months. I worked with them separately for hours. I worked with them together for hours. Neither ever picked up on the fact that clicker = treat. I would click, treat. Click, treat. Pause.... Pause.... Pause... Click, treat. I was just doing the first step: trying to make them associate the click with a reward, and they ignored the little sound completely. I tried everything, but it is just such a gentle click, that they didn't pay it any attention.

I read Karen Pryor and I am still quite impressed with her. I believe strongly in these methods and I am upset that I found no success with it. I ended up tossing the clicker and training the pup without it. I think that I read somewhere that the little box clickers are louder, so I think my dogs would have caught on if I had tried that first. (Maybe!) But especially for a hyperactive pup, this clicker is too quiet to get their attention enough for them to even learn the first easy step: Click = Treat!

Bottom line: Great for switching to something easier on your ears AFTER your pet knows what a click means and is waiting for it; bad for obtaining the attention of a young hyperactive animal.

Does its Job
It is small enough that it fits comfortably in a woman's hand. It may be to small for a male. The click is loud enough but not to loud.

Very handy
The clicker looks just like the picture and is very handy with the wrist attachment. I would have liked it a little louder but overall very pleased.

Helpful for Training
I have a Norwich Terrier puppy and thought I would start her with clicker training at a young age. It is very effective, and she loves the clicker now. Read more

sure enough, that little holder part breaks
I wanted a quieter clicker. This is the best I could find. This works great but the part to attach it to key rings, etc, is very flimsy and I have to keep taping it. Read more

Clicks okay but too quiet for outside
This clicker was too quiet for my use. You can't hear it outdoors hardly at all. I also bought the "blue one" and it is much better.
