5.0 out of 5 stars Great for my cats
The biggest contributing factor for me purchasing this particular clicker was because it states it can be clicked from nearly any position. In the times I've used it so far that is always the case. It is very easy to hold in my hand (I'm only 5'1" and have small hands for an average female) and click in my palm.

3.0 out of 5 stars KAREN PRYOR I-CLICK CLICKER
I LIKE THE CLICKER BECAUSE IT IS COMFORTABLE TO HOLD IN YOUR HAND.THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS I WISH THAT THE OPENING AT THE END OF THE CLICKER HAD A HINGED/LOCKABLE LEVER OR SOMETHING TO MAKE IT EASIER TO ATTACH TO THINGS LIKE A LEASH HANDLE,BELT LOOP OR BAG.I HAD TO USE A COLLAR TAG RING TO ATTACH MINE TO THE HANDLE LOOP OF MY DOG'S LEASH.

It is the perfect loudness for my two cats even though one typically does not like sudden noises.

I like that this clicker has a section on the end for a key chain or string if you choose to use one.

Thus far I find no negatives about this clicker.

I had this and it was a good investment for dog training. If it doesn't work you are probably the one to blame, this does what it was made to do: MARK THE BEHAVIOR

2.0 out of 5 stars Clicks okay but too quiet for outside, November 2, 2010

This clicker was too quiet for my use. You can't hear it outdoors hardly at all. I also bought the "blue one" and it is much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars It clicks, June 3, 2010

It's a clicker. It does what it's supposed to do. I like the size b/c I'm not very coordinated and trying to walk my dog on a leash in one hand and click and treat with the other could be challenging. I've seen the other clicker- the blue and orange one- it's way too big. This one is perfect.

I use this with my cat and she quickly got the idea. So this product CAN be used with cats. I've taught her "paw up," "paw down," "touch," "touch this," "lay," and "sit," all effectively with this product as help.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful for Training, January 22, 2012

I have a Norwich Terrier puppy and thought I would start her with clicker training at a young age. It is very effective, and she loves the clicker now. My advice to new users: If your puppy is scared of the clicking noise at first (as mine was) use the clicker while in your pocket or behind your back. Your puppy will eventually get used to the noise and associate it with treats and training.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too quiet., March 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I believe that if your dog is already clicker trained with the black box shaped metal clicker, and is expecting to hear the click, then you will appreciate switching to something that is quieter to use. It does sit in my hand comfortably. My husband loves it and drives me crazy with it sometimes because it is sort of fun to do (if you are a fidgety kind of person).

I don't really like it for training purposes for my dogs. Before I started clicker training, I had already taught one of my pups (now age 6) several commands. She is very calm and obedient and she loves training time. When I began to use the clicker and attempted clicker training, I had my dog I'd already trained, and a new puppy, age 3 months. I worked with them separately for hours. I worked with them together for hours. Neither ever picked up on the fact that clicker = treat. I would click, treat. Click, treat. Pause.... Pause.... Pause... Click, treat. I was just doing the first step: trying to make them associate the click with a reward, and they ignored the little sound completely. I tried everything, but it is just such a gentle click, that they didn't pay it any attention.

I read Karen Pryor and I am still quite impressed with her. I believe strongly in these methods and I am upset that I found no success with it. I ended up tossing the clicker and training the pup without it. I think that I read somewhere that the little box clickers are louder, so I think my dogs would have caught on if I had tried that first. (Maybe!) But especially for a hyperactive pup, this clicker is too quiet to get their attention enough for them to even learn the first easy step: Click = Treat!

Bottom line: Great for switching to something easier on your ears AFTER your pet knows what a click means and is waiting for it; bad for obtaining the attention of a young hyperactive animal.

4.0 out of 5 stars sure enough, that little holder part breaks, January 2, 2011

I wanted a quieter clicker. This is the best I could find. This works great but the part to attach it to key rings, etc, is very flimsy and I have to keep taping it. Definitely a design flaw.
