I purchased this costume for my son's school program. It is lightweight and wasn't too hot under the stage lights. If you were purchasing for Halloween, you will want your child to wear clothes under it.

The costume arrived earlier than I expected and was just as the picture and description stated. My grandson loved being Cat in the Hat and his friends were Thing #1 and Thing #2

My son wore this for Halloween and LOVED it. He wore it often before and after halloween. He even wanted to pack it to wear at Universal Studios. I did stuff the hat with tissue paper to keep it standing up. Costume is pretty durable.
