Book Description

Miranda is a high-class escort at the most prestigious escort agency in Sydney, Australia. Her Madam, Miss Stephanie commands the highest standard from her working girls and has taught Miranda the very best in the art of seducing men. Although it was never the life Miranda imagined for herself, she makes more than a decent living from it and always seems to be in demand from the Agency’s top clients.

American-born Joe Tench is one of Sydney’s most prominent businessman, owning the majority of the nightlife in Sydney, and across the country, but there is a dark side to Joe Tench. He is a regular client of Miranda's, he is also demanding, dominating and hard to handle. Miranda finds herself falling for Joe Tench’s unfamiliar, yet enticing charm.

Until she meets Tom Smythe, heir to a wealthy mining company and is amongst the top ten wealthiest families in Australia. The two develop a strong friendship after a chance meeting.

Miranda is caught between her feelings for these two very different men until a personal tragedy sees Miranda embark on a journey of discovery... and into a world she finds difficult to escape from.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Your Mom's Romance Book August 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I've always thought, in another life, I'd be a kickass prostitute with a heart of gold. With Buying Thyme, I now I have someone after which to model my fantasies. Miranda is hot, confident, self-assured, kickass legal prostitute in Sydney who has great sex and amazing friends. But this is not a typical romance book, and thank goodness for that. (Not that I don't love a good typical romance book, but you know, I like to mix things up a bit.) Buying Thyme mixes everything up, tosses normal around like an old rag doll, and leaves you hanging wanting more like a wanton hussy. There are two more books coming in the trilogy, and Buying Thyme is a great set-up for the rest of the series. A definite must-read!

5.0 out of 5 stars ~*~ 4.5 Stars ~*~ September 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A story about a hooker conflicted between her two johns. Hmm, did not seem that catchy but as I was given this copy for an honest review I decided to give it an honest effort.

Miranda is more of a high-class call girl than your basic hooker and that made it a little easier to get into. The writing style and ease of the story made it easier for me to continue reading. Miranda was hired for a weekend jaunt with sexy Joe Tench, he is a billionaire with a dark side and connections to the dark side of Australia. But he and Miranda have a wonderful weekend complete with candlelight dinner and it was very sweetly written. Miranda is questioning her future as a call girl and her possible future with him. It was easy to forget her profession and just see her as a regular girl. It was almost easy to accept her job choice.

Then she meets Tom Smythe who buys her time but only wants to talk to her, only wants to be her friend and get to know her. She begins to meet Tom outside of work and they slowly develop a true friendship. She has never really had a male friend before and finds herself falling for him, while still having feelings for the dashing Joe.

Miranda needs to decide if she wants a relationship with the possessive and domineering Joe and if she wants to take a chance on the sweet and unassuming Tom. Then a tragedy befalls one of her fellow workers and everything that she thought she knew is questioned as she starts to put her life in perspective.

This story was very well written, although some parts were kind of easy to guess the majority of the book was certainly a pleasant surprise. The characters were all very nicely fleshed out. The sex scenes were extremely well done and played around with a little bit of bondage and some fancy costume changes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow! 4.5 stars! February 16, 2014

This book threw all kinds of curve balls at me! I thought that it was going to be about one thing and it totally switched gears on me. I have spent the better part of an afternoon reading instead of doing housework. It was too good to put down! Be forewarned that the story doesn't end with this book. If you don't want to be left hanging, plan on buying the others.

Buying Thyme was a fascinating read and pretty damn unique. The heroine? She's a hooker. Really. A hooker. I mean, how often can you say that?!

Miranda's been a high-class escort for a handful of years and is good at what she does but seems to be at a turning point in her life. It was really interesting being in her head and seeing how she viewed her career and coped with what she did. It's not always pretty and definitely not the lifestyle for me but it was interesting getting a peek into her world. The glamorous parts, the dangers that come with her work, the way emotions can twist and lines can easily be crossed. I found myself liking her more and more as the book went along and really wanting the best for her. She's also brutally frank about her life.

Now, the men. There are a handful of guys involved. Johns she's had relations with or that have just come into the picture. And they all kept me guessing for most of the book. Especially after a young woman disappears that seems to be connected to one of the men. It was one where I couldn't decide who to root for as her hero or who was even hero material at all. Because some of the things that happen? Not hero quality stuff. More landing on the 'you need to be neutered' side of things. They're what kept me reading though because they're each so different and not quite predictable.

While there were some writing things to get used to--an abundance of !s towards the start and slang due to it's locale of Australia that I just wasn't familiar with-- I soon found myself really getting lost in the world and kept reaching for my ereader instead of doing everything else I really needed to be doing. The book was addictive and I just had to know what happened next. With the men, with Miranda, with the missing woman.
