Book Description

Aspen Moore has a new life in a new city, complete with a new career. As a personal concierge, she sells her time to those who don’t have enough. One of the perks of her business is focusing on other people’s lives so she doesn’t have to face the demons in her own.

When Aspen’s most loyal customer dies and his suicide looks eerily like murder, she anonymously tips off the police so she won’t expose a secret she desperately needs to keep. But, murder and mayhem are a bothersome duo and she soon finds herself caught in a web of chaos.

A string of crimes, long enough to make a real detective sweat, threaten her livelihood and ultimately her life. Aspen’s only hope is to untangle the mess before they cause permanent damage. Pursuing the truth means solving the mystery of a decade-old land deal, while juggling a quirky DJ and his dog, an eccentric paraplegic, a curious set of twins, and a flirtatious neighbor with spy gadgets.

About the Author

A geographic mutt, Kelly Cochran has lived on the East Coast, the West Coast, and in many places in between. During her childhood, she attended thirteen different schools, in twelve years, all before going off to college at the age of seventeen. To her surprise, she turned out somewhat normal and went on to have a 20-year career in information technology. Currently she lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband and three dogs. Her son lives in the Washington, D.C. area where he never tires of Kelly's efforts to get him to move closer. When she isn't writing, she divides her time between managing Internet-based retail businesses, talking to her mother, using her high-tech cell phone to play Wordsmith and Tap Fish, and wondering why she doesn't have enough time to finish writing her next novel. Kelly is a member of Sisters in Crime. Find out more at www.KellyCochran.com

5.0 out of 5 stars I'd hire Aspen Moore May 7, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed reading this book. Buying Time offers a serious intrigue with a little twist of real life comedy. It was delightful and surprising to learn that this was the
authors first book. There is a freshness about the book that leaves me anxious to see what will happen next in the life of Aspen Moore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky and fun to read: May 22, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The perfect balance. Enough quirkiness to be fun but not too outragious.Enough tasteful romantic "heat factor" without being too offensive. The witty humor flowing nicely gives you many laugh out loud moments without being goofey.
"What has she gotten herself into?" is the question you will be asking by the end of the first paragraph.
Aspen Moore is a likeable main character, easy to relate to, that shows strength as well as endearing vulnerabilities.
Due to a life changing past, Aspen is creating a new life for herself. You will enjoy following her through the twists and turns created by heart tugging mother/daughter issues as well as the "creep" or "keep" questions that come from her new romantic interests. As well as diverse/interesting job situations.
With the added dose of a good "who done it", I highly recommend "Buying Time". My first copy was gifted by the author and goes onto my "to keep" shelf.
I purchased another copy through Amazon. It arrives tomorrow to be a gift for a friend.
The book is very well designed. The cover, colorful and well laid out. A front crease saves wear on the books spine. Off white pages are easy on the eyes. And the best feature, a CLOCK. For a series reader, the age old question "which do I read first" has been Uniquely answered. The clock on the front cover of Buying Time is set to 1 o'clock (#1 in the Aspen Moore series). "Borrowed Time" (#2 in the series) will be set at 2 o'clock and so on. Thank you Kelly Cochran for keeping your readers in mind and giving us such an enjoyable read. I eagerly await the next Aspen Moore mystery.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun! May 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A big thanks to the author, Kelly Cochran, for sending me a copy of her book! I had so much fun reading about Aspen and her misadventures! She's a great character - very down-to-earth and easy for anyone to relate to. I also really liked her developing relationships between her/Peter/Jack. A very fun first book in the series and I can't wait to read more!

More About the Author

Being the only one in her family to be born in North Carolina, Kelly always felt a little special. But she soon discovered being called special might not be the way to go, so she kept her feelings a secret.

Her stint as a Tarheel was short-lived. At the age of two, her parents whisked her off to the State of Kentucky, a move that would be the first of many. Along with North Carolina and Kentucky, Kelly has resided in California, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, and Texas.

She attended 13 different schools in 12 years, before becoming an emancipated minor and beginning college at the age of seventeen. With her life officially her responsibility, she discovered a few things:

- There is a down side to using a fake id
- Fish will die if your electricity is shut off while you are out of town
- Nobody believes you when you say you saw a UFO
- Not registering in time for your college classes can change your life
