These light up when you pour a liquid into them, but the lights quit after about 15 seconds. The plastic in a little on the cheap side and the batteries are not replaceable, however they are somewhat of a conversation item and serve the purpose. You can tap the bottom of the shot glass and they will recycle through another 15 second light episode.

One of the four shot glasses I received was defective. It did not work at all, and after tampering around on the inside a bit I was able to make it flash red for a few taps. Also, confusing product description- claims that batteries can not be replaced followed by comment on replaceable battery. To be fair- the product did arrive 1-2 days after ordering. Overall, it should be cheaper as tape was involved in the creation of this product.

We really enjoy those shot glasses. The colors adds lots of spice to your drink. It seems maybe not the strongest glasses but come on for this price. Great glasses.
