4.0 out of 5 stars Not the 2 CD version
This is a great album but not the exact one that you see on TV. The one sold on TV is a 2-album set with 32 songs. This has a mixture of songs from both of the 2 albums from the TV version.
Just incase your curious, here is the TV version.
Disc 1
1. Lightning Crashes | Live
2. Champagne Supernova | Oasis
3. If You Could Only See | Tonic...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in CD
I was extremely disappointed that this was NOT the 2 CD set advertised on TV. Not only is it heavily censored (words that the radio versions allow are bleeped out) but the Live song has been edited so that the entire first stanza is missing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deceiving!, September 7, 2006

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Buzz Ballads (Audio CD)
This CD is NOT as it reads on the case "As Seen On TV." As I "saw it on TV" there were 32 songs. The CD Amazon sent me had only 18. Perhaps there's a little truth in advertising issue here. Very disapointing.

Pay attention people. This is one CD. It's not the double Cd collection sold on TV for $27. It's priced the same as most new SINGLE CDs. Geez...everybody wants something for nothin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Newspeak Ballads, August 24, 2006

A pretty good compilation of songs. I would have given it 5 stars, but they put the edited radio versions of each song on the CD...which means no potty-mouth. Whenever a banned word comes up, they figure out some way to mute the singing, or cover it up with some noise. I always found this practice completely annoying, but hey, It's not as bad as the old days when they just covered it with a tone. It is however, ridiculously excessive in Everlast's "What It's Like".

3.0 out of 5 stars not too satisfied, October 1, 2006
This review is from: Buzz Ballads (Audio CD)
I misunderstood when I bought this album I thought I was getting both discs. What a bummer! Anyway, the disc I got wasn't too bad. It is fun to go back a few years and remember special moments from high school.

Missing more than 10 songs!
Not as seen on tv.
It sucks but I guess it was pretty cheap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Collection to Lie Back and Rock On!, July 27, 2006
This review is from: Buzz Ballads (Audio CD)
Maybe this collection is named BUZZ BALLADS because these tunes are great to listen to with a beer buzz. But this compilation of contemporary (well, Nineties is contemp, in my book) ballads sounds great sans buzz; it sounds great whether I'm driving to the convenience store or singing along in the shower. Good rock is good rock, and BUZZ BALLADS is as timeless as it is transcendent.

These are great tracks, featuring terrific artistry, vocals, innovation, and musicianship. They include--but are not limited to--"Lightning Crashes" (Live); "If You Could Only See" (Tonic); "Glycerine" (Bush); "It's Been Awhile" (Staind); "Jumper" (Third Eye Blind); "Wasting My Time" (Default); "What It's Like" (Everlast); and "The World I Know" (Collective Soul).

That's pretty good company for any CD compilation.

(NOTE: This is a TWO-CD collection with sixteen cuts on each disc! Other Amazonians per the product discussion have posted they only received one disc. I would recommend contacting Customer Service before ordering here to verify! FYI.)

These are great tunes. . .buzz or no buzz.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tracks are censored, and this is not the "As Seen on TV" 2 CD Set, December 19, 2006
This review is from: Buzz Ballads (Audio CD)
Like several people have already commented, this is NOT the 2 CD set advertised on TV. It's only one CD, with a mix of songs from the 2 CD version.

Also, some of the tracks are censored (notably track 1); considering that it costs a bit more than most CDs, you might expect to be getting the full, unedited, original songs, but you don't quite.

Still, all songs that I love.

1.0 out of 5 stars First-rate scam, January 19, 2008
This review is from: Buzz Ballads (Audio CD)
As others have noted, this is not the 2-disc set that was advertised on TV, but a single disc amalgam of songs from the 2-disc set. This didn't prevent the manufacturer from claiming this was "As seen on TV!" on the cd case. It even had an "as seen on TV" claim on the Amazon product page when I bought it, though that seems to have been removed. Considering how heavily advertised the 2-disc set was, it was quite deceptive to give this stripped-down version the same name, same cover, and stamp a claim on the case that it is "as seen on TV." Amazon should offer a conspicuous notice that this is NOT the same product advertised on TV, or remove this sham disc from their product listing altogether.

If you are still interested in buying this Buzz Ballads lite version, be aware that any coarse language has been edited out of the songs; these are not the same as what you'd hear from the original artists' albums (more like what you'd hear on the radio, or if you bought one of those censored releases from Big Brother Walmart).
