5.0 out of 5 stars Superheroes for people who don't like superheroes--Fun!, March 25, 2003

This review is from: Buzzboy Trouble in Paradise (Paperback)
I've really outgrown most superheroes, but Buzzboy, Becca (a cute, sexy sorceress, and the hilarious, cherry tart making Doc Cyber, are welcome to battle robots, monsters, and Elvis-impersonating baddies in my library any day!

This graphic novel takes every cliche of super people and turns it on it''s ear. the art is clean and crisp, and the writing is witty, heavilly influenced by TV show and movie trivia. the characters, while goofy, also have a lot of heart. I've found thatthis is a comic not just for guys, as the female lead is the brains of the outfit.

I truly enjoyed this book, especially the sketchbook section in the back; it's worth buying the book just to see the "About The Author" section... you'd have to see it to believe it! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Buzzboy is awesome--This book is too funny!, December 26, 2002

This review is from: Buzzboy Trouble in Paradise (Paperback)
I picked this up at my local comics shop, and I had to get it here (for the discount) to send to three friends.

Buzzboy is a funny, fun superhero, who watches too much TV and eats too much diner food. he'd rather be hanging out then fighting crime. His girlfriend is a cute little sarcastic sorceress, and I related top her as the only sensible persion inb the book.

There is a moral of doing what's right, while also having some very funny jokes. My two adult friends will love the pop references, and Happy Days jokes, but my nephew will definitely enjoy the fun smashing and cartoony chuckles.

The art is cool and stylized, like the Justice League and Kim Possible cartoons, and there is a very interesting sketch book in the back.

I give this a super buzz recomendation!
