I used this for my 2 year old when she got her flu shot, she didn't even flinch!! The only comment she said was ow... when it was over. It was amazing. The only thing I would recommend is to keep the wings in the freezer until the last possible second. They only stay frozen for 10 min, so if you are going to need them out of the freezer longer take a little cooler with a good ice pack to keep them in.

1 Shot caused 20 minutes of fear and heartache and screaming and tears. I would say screaming 'bloody murder' would be accurate.

I went online and went searching for something to help my then 8 yr old daughter.

I found Buzzy and purchased it straight away.

My Daughter got to see it. See how it works for months prior to her physical in 2013.

2013
We used Buzzy
1. I packed the Buzzy Ice Packs in a small cooler with Ice to keep them Cold
2. When it was time to get her shot - there was more anticipation about the Buzzy experience than the shot
3. We followed the steps provided
4. The shot was administered in SECONDS!!!!!!!

Then...I got my sarcastic comment
" I still felt it Dad."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

Folks - I'll take the sarcasm over 20 minutes of Screaming -

My three small boys (ages 4, 5, 6) recently began allergy shots (three times per week, two shots each time). After a few sessions in the doctor's office, I was equipped to administer the shots at home. The first few weeks without Buzzy were so stressful. The boys would plead with me to not give them shots, and the youngest always cried. Then, I found Buzzy. Today, the shots for two boys took less than 5 minutes, and as I held the Buzzy on him, the littlest guy kept giggling saying, "This tickles!" He giggled even as I gave his shots. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My six year old said he couldn't feel the first shot at all, and the second shot was painless (but he could feel it). He said he never wanted a shot without Buzzy again.

Note; FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! As per the training video and instructions: I hold Buzzy on the injection site for 15-20 seconds, then I move it to their shoulder (where they hold it in place) while I give the shot. The concept is simple, but the technique is crucial to the success of Buzzy.

Be aware that little kids are unpredictable... My middle son has such an extreme phobia that even Buzzy wasn't enough to calm him down, and I made the decision to try shots again in a few years. In his case, the cold, the vibration, etc. made him feel more nervous and out-of-control. I probably could have kept trying, but the allergies are less upsetting to him than the shots are at this age (and 6 shots per week for 2 other kids is about all I can take)!

This is the best purchase I have ever made! I could be a sales rep for these since I have RA and already took it to my Rhuematologist office!

She didn't even feel first shot. Then second shot only cried for a second compared to 10 min. Introduce it before you go to dr so they are used to it.

I saw Buzzy when it was featured The Rachel Ray Show a couple of months ago. I had to order it when they showed a child receiving shots and she didn't even cry--she actually said it didn't hurt at all. We received Buzzy with easy to follow instructions. Includes a blue gel wing ice pack and 2 disposable ice packs. You have to add 2 tsp. of water to the disposable ice packs and then freeze them. They can be refrozen at this point. Also comes with a soft velcro strap to hold it onto your child's arm or leg.

The bee vibrates and when used with the ice pack, it numbs the area. What's amazing is that it really works...

Pros:
-Reasonable price ($34.95) for a reusable medical grade device
-Older kids love to bring it with them to the doctor to protect them against the pain of immunizations. Can also be used for babies as well.
-Has multiple uses--not just for shots, also great for boo boos and ouchies
-Small and portable, super cute and friendly to children.

Cons:
-Must remember to freeze separate ice pack before trips to the doctor
-Everyone in the neighborhood will want to borrow your Buzzy!
-No free shipping

Also, I went on the website buzzy4shots.com to check the price and they sell a really nice cold bag (called the Cold To Go) which will keep the ice packs cold for transportation.

This is a sanity saver when you have to watch your child take painful insulin injections each day. I highly reccommend it for families with young children.

i bought the buzzy and used it on my 2 month old for her shots. we kept the wings on ice until the last moment. i breast fed her during the shot as well because i had read that it helps. it worked for the first shot. she did feel it and cried a little but it was not a screaming in agony type cry, just an i feel uncomfortable but i'm not in a lot of pain cry. unfortunately though the wings melted very quickly and by the time we got to the second shot, (shortly after the first one) they weren't frozen anymore and she felt the second shot and screamed in agony. i'm pretty sure she felt the full force of the shot because she turned all red and cried hysterically for several minutes despite the breast feeding. personally i would rather pay more for the buzzy in exchange for the device coming with extra wings because i didn't know that would be an issue and would have gladly paid more to be better prepared.
