Product Description

The sword of Byakuya Kuchiki is just as cold and uncaring as Byakuya himself. From the carbon steel 26" forged blade to the distinctive hamon. Both the handle and the saego are wrapped in a beautiful deep ice-blue cotton cord matching Byakuya persona and attitude in the anime. The scabbard of this sword is also deep blue, not black.

I would like to preface this review by saying that I did not purchase this sword expecting to receive a combat-ready weapon; I did, however, expect to receive a decent replica.

The moment I lifted this sword out of the box, I knew something was wrong; it was very light as katanas go. Additionally, the shade of blue shown in the picture, (very dark blue, almost black) is not the color of the actual sword and sheath; they are more of a gaudy primary blue. Upon further inspection, I discovered dried hot glue oozing out of just about every point of attachment, and the hilt cap actually came off in my hand. When I drew the sword from its sheath, I was horrified to discover that the sheath is made of plastic. Having purchased another 24Seven sword that was absolutely beautiful, (gorgeous wooden sheath, real ray skin wrap, full tang with a good heft to it,) I was very disappointed. The product page doesn't tell you this, but needless to say, the sword isn't full tang. Anyone with even the most rudimentary knowledge of katanas would tell you that this sword is very cheaply made; the word "CHINA" is printed on the blade as clearly as day. It is also visible that the wrap on the hilt is glued in place. What bugged me most, however, was the fact that the fabric underlying the wrap on the hilt was a sparkly, gold material that bore a striking resemblance to Christmas ribbon; on top of all that, it was bunched up and protruding from underneath the hilt cap instead of tucked underneath. Try as I may, I can't seem to fix this particular flaw. Even with the hilt cap completely off, it's impossible to tuck the fabric underneath it. Long story short, don't waste your money. Kidô would be a better alternative to this blade any day.

I have to admit: I was unsure about how well my sword would be after seeing all the mixed reviews on here. But when I got mine I was surprised how good it was, felt very solid for how light the overall weight is. Shipped and delivered very fast like how Amazon always does. I actually like the shade of blue that it has, well actually I would have been happy either way even if it was as dark in the picture. Now I do have 4 problems with it but to me they aren't that big of a deal but I feel I should address them. First off is the one I discovered first: the tsuba was loose and it didn't go anywhere but it still moved in place. I was able to fix that by wrapping dental floss between the tsuba and the hilt. The 2nd problem I have is the metal part above the tsuba on mine it's bent outwards on both sides, I can't really fix that without hammering them back but that's probably not a good idea. The 3rd problem I ran into was the blade on mine was slightly bent. I'm not sure what caused it but its not a big deal to me since its hardly noticeable. The last problem I had was the blade itself. The blade to me seemed really thin and not like how its pictured. Other than those small issues I really enjoy having it and I'm glad it was my first sword ever purchased.

The delivery experience itself was okay, Fedex was polite and delivered it on time, but the box itself had a large gash in it. You can tell the sword was VERY cheaply made. The cap on the hilt came off immediately and the wrapping under the hilt looks like cheap christmas wrapping paper. In this case you get what you pay for.
Overall its not a horrible replica, but it's not a very good one either. It's decent for cosplay, but for anything else you're better off getting another blade.

This is a real nice sword for the price. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's loose when it's in the sheath. Besides that a nice sword for collectors of katanas. NOT BATTLE READY.

the sword came as shown in the picture so i guess its a hit or miss when you buy this product. the blade looks great with one minor flaw it is engraved with the word china near the hilt. the scabbard was not quite what expected it to be either it was made of plastic. other than that great product overall pleased with the shipping speed and the quality.

Pros:
- It's a $45 sword, a good deal for Bleach fans.
- It's loyal to the Bleach series in its design.
- Colors are accurate.
- Blade looks good.
- It's fairly solid and can stand to be swung around a little.
- The color of the saya (scabbard) looks amazing.

Cons:
- It's a $45 sword, you get what you pay for.
- It was already coming apart before I opened the package.
- Pieces WILL fall off. Nothing a little carefully-placed superglue can't handle, but it's ridiculous to have to glue pieces back on to a supposedly "brand new" sword
- The fabrics used on the handle are cheap and will snag/tear whenever they touch anything (especially rings).
- A cheap piece of plastic is used for the friction lock in the saya (scabbard). It wears down EXTREMELY fast if you use your sword on a regular basis.
- The tang rattles around a little bit.

Overall I'm excited to finally have this sword in my collection, but it's sad that no one can sell a sword that will at least hold together during shipping.
