I bought 3 books (two of which had CDs included) on Korean of beginners and was getting nowhere. So grateful I got this software to give me a comfortable foundation!
Helpful words and phrases for beginners. The software is very user friendly and self-explanatory. The course is presented in the format of lessons/phrase lists, which you can select from. Each word/phrase is written [on a "flash card"] in both English and Korean, with native speaker pronounciation and an illustration (e.g. a picture of a cow). What I appreciated was an option to hear the pronounciation in slow motion so you can clearly distinguish the pronounciation of each syllable. Very helpful is the "Alphabet" window, where you can select each character in a word and listen to how it is pronounced - also has an independent alphabet with character pronounciations. Each lesson then also has various tests and games. I haven't checked out the ipod feature yet - I prefer to "see" the language as I'm learning it. |
