Thumbs UP for a Value Folder,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Byrd Crow G-10 Combination Edge Knife, Black (Sports)
The Byrd Crow combination edge folding knife is a fairly solid product. For those who may not know, Byrd is a Chinese subsidiary of Spyderco, I've bought two of these and a number of Sypdercos, and so far I have no complaints. This knife is roughly comparable to Spyderco's Delica in overall size and weight, but looks less gracile for some reason, perhaps the swedge on the upper end of the blade, which also makes it look rather aggressive. Mine arrived shaving-sharp out of the box. It deploys (opens) easily with one hand but has a solid lock-up with no vertical or side-to-side play. It is a liner-lock design with an open back, so that lint, twigs and whatnot can simply be brushed out or blown out. The jimping on the thumb-ramp isn't all that great, but the choil on the lower side of the blade is effectively jimped, one of the best in my little knife menagerie. I originally gave this knife four stars simply on the value proposition (mine was on-sale at Amazon for under $15 which was about one quarter of what my Delica cost!). If the one I have is typical, it is still an excellent value at about half the price of a Delica. Solid knife, thumbs up.
