A little odd, very different, worth reading.
Where often the feeling in a work of fiction comes from the reader's attachment to the character or setting I found that in bystander feelings came first, purely from the careful choice of language in setting each scene, and those feeling were what drove my appreciation for the characters. The atmosphere is both great and unique, at times surreal, but in an average, kind of everday, manner. I should also mention this one does the 'superpowers have become the norm in the near future!' in an (ironically) odd way - by actually making them normal. I suspect this gives us a better picture of what society would really do in such an event than all the comic universes could ever hope for.

This is book is definitely worth the price. The hero is this book is not one of the more generic hero that is being but into most books these day. Being neither the dark brooding hero of the insanely upbeat hero seen in most anime. Not to mention she is both smart and strong but not to the point of it being able to over power anybody and everybody. All in all I would really recommend this book and the next one if the author keep it up.
