Ms. Jones makes a large splash with each new book and BYTE ME is no exception. The intricate plot and compelling characters make this a nail-biting read. 4-1/2 Stars and Dec Top Pick from Romantic Times!

More About the Author

Pauline Baird Jones began her writing career penning romantic suspense (fictional murder doesn't get you strip searched!) but she had a secret longing to ramp up the spills, chills and daring do.

By chance she wrote a science fiction romance, realized she'd been mixing fiction into her science since high school (oops, sorry science teachers!), and thought, why not go where she hasn't gone before? After that, it was easy to stir in some steampunk.

Deputy M.S. Marshal Jake Kirby is tracking fugitive Dewey Hyatt across land and cyberspace with the reluctant cooperation of FBI agent Bryn Bailey. The FBI agent wants Hyatt to lead her to a man called Phagan, the leader of an elusive gang of cyber-thieves. One of the gang, Phoebe Mentel is seeking to bring her sister's killer to justice. Then there is Peter Harding, a man with a promising political future who is about to lose it all if his latest crimes are exposed by Phagan's game. Byte Me is a romantic suspense novel that plays out a contemporary thriller scenario against a Colorado backdrop combined with a cyberspace frontier. Pauline Jones is an accomplished writer able to engage superbly crafted characters with plot-line surprises that play fair with both her story, her characters, and her readers. Also highly recommended is her earlier novels, The Last Enemy and The Spy Who Kissed Me.

Pauline Baird Jones is a wonderful, talented writer. I've been a fan since Pig In A Park (aka The Spy Who Kissed Me). I love everything she's ever written and I can't wait for the next story in the Lonesome Lawmen series!

Once again Pauline Baird Jones gives her readers a great story of mystery, thrills, and romance. It's little wonder that she's becoming one of the fastest growing stars in the genre!
