My wife & I have used Pic brand Mosquito Coils for years and have been very pleased. It's the brand my wife remembers her parents using in her childhood and the only brand that she has found consistently effective.

Our backyard was overgrown and had a mosquito problem. These coils helped completely manage the problem so that we could have a party and nobody got eaten by mosquitoes.

Since being introduced to mosquito coils in Okinawa, Japan in 1972 I have bought them ever since as the best way to keep mosquitos away. Too my delight I started seeing them in the United States marketed by Coleman as a camping tool, now they are more widely available, still many people don't know what they are.
I highly recommend them and I was happy to see them on Amazon at a good price.

The item has a strong smell of burnt wood. The smell repels the mosquitoes , but the smell is extremely dangerous for human being. I burnt the product inside the home for 2 minutes , but had to open the doors to get rid of the smell for 2 days and I had severe reaction such as coughing, and burning sensation at my throat. So be aware that just use the product outside your home, as the manufacturer has suggested.

The coil works very well for keeping the night-time bugs at bay. I liked the sticks better because I could simply insert them into one of the planters on the deck. Unfortunately, they apparently stopped making them.

These come in 4 plastic-wrapped packages inside a box. each plastic package holds 2 concentric coils. The trick for you is to be very gentle in separating the 2 coils. These things break pretty easy, just like every other brand of coil I've used over the years. Also just like every other coil I have used, at least 1 or 2 are broken before I even get to use them. They still burn, just not so nice because you need to figure a way other than the little included metal holders - an ashtray works well. Keep in mind there will be a little ash after these burn.
They smolder really slowly for hours, and do give off a little smoke. The smell reminds me of a dead campfire. Friends in my backyard haven't found it to be offensive, quite the contrary, because it works pretty well, especially if you burn 2 or 3 around the area. For the price, I'd buy these again since I note no difference between these and other brands. Oh, and by the way - I'm using these in a Miami, Florida suburb with lots of dense vegetation and standing water breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

AVOID THIS! I would give it ZERO stars if that was an option.,

These PIC mosquito coils sound too good to be true for the price, right? Well, sorry, but they suck. First of all, they don't stay lit more than a few minutes, so you have to continuously keep re-lighting them, which I can't stand. Secondly, they stink. I mean, the smoke that they put out repells HUMANS, not just mosquitoes.
It's quite clear that this is an extremely cheaply-made product, which wouldn't bother me if it just worked like it is supposed to and did not smell like a house on fire when it does manage to stay lit. I ended up returning all of the unopened boxes of these crappy coils that I purchased through Amazon. Find and buy the 'OFF' brand mosquito coils. They cost a little bit more, but they WORK; you never have to re-light them once you light them for the first time, they smell SO much better (it's like burning incense), they last a good 4-hours each, and the mosquitoes will not come anywhere near you while they are burning.

Great for keeping mosquitos at bay. They do what they are supposed to at a really low cost and don't require you to spray yourself with some greasy chemical!

The coils appear to keep some mosquitos at bay, but how can one tell for sure how well it works. We generally light two coils and keep them in close proxmity. We have used them both at home and at a cabin in the mountains and are satisfied with them.
