From the Author

Through ten years of brainstorming and study we gave the elements a face and body. We wanted something unique and friendly but also keeping their scientific integrity. The fact each element’s body is based on it’s Atomic Orbital Structure is of little importance to the young learner but remembering this shape later-on will help you determine where the all important electrons lie. Please enjoy this first in a series of book adventures in chemistry!!

For a first foray into chemistry, it's not bad. It's the kind of thing where you as the adult will need to coach your child through so they understand the significance of the 4 armed carbon atom for example.

5.0 out of 5 stars C Is For Carbon, February 19, 2006

What a fun way to explore the nuts and bolts of Chemistry! I have shared this book with children as young as 3 and my sons 6th grade class wanted to know why they didn't have this book in their classroom last month when they were learning about different molecules (Oxygen and Carbon). All ages enjoyed seeing how these creatures (elements) fit into their daily lives. My son's teacher felt it was an excellent teaching tool. You and your kids are going to love it!
