This is the second of these type of products I have purchased, and by far the better. It is bright, it smoothly transitions from one color to the next, and looks great.

Unlike other bulbs I have seen, you can 'set' this bulb to one color, but those bulb will usually 'forget' what color you set them on as soon as you turn them off. This bulb will always be changing colors for you, whenever you have it on.

Be aware that because the bulb itself has no diffuser on it, you will see little individual rays of Red, Green, and Blue from each LED. In other words, when the bulb displays yellow, you can notice dots of red and green in the light cast. This can actually be a nice effect in the right setting.

Purchased two bulbs for the house two outside front lights during the Christmas holidays. They work flawlessly and intrigued many into watching them cycle through their display, blended in quite well with the an LED string of Christmas lights that also cycled through color changes. I am purchasing more as my parents requested a couple.

I would not want to use these all year round, but for the holidays they looked great with the christmas lights on the house. They slowly go thru the spectrum of light and are quite attractive. They would also be a nice subtle touch for a get-together or party.

If they made them in "bug light yellow" I'd use 14 of them for use around the house the other 11 months of the long. They put out about as much light as a 9w CF bulb. Which I think is about 40-50watt light. Perfectly fine for what we use them for. They are expensive, but they will pay for themselves in just a few years. (I paid $15 each). They only use 1 watt of electricity.

What a fun light! This bulb makes my decorative hammered metal lantern even prettier. The color change is soothing, and the LED mechanism uses very little electricity and remains cool to the touch. This bulb is brighter than a night-light, but dimmer than a standard candelabra bulb. The clear plastic cover looks like a glowing jewel. Beautiful!

I got my first one of these ~april 2009 for use in a "Mickey Globe Light" I was making. It really made the light look great, esp along the dark camping loops at Fort Wilderness. However, less than a week of camping and it died. I did think to buy and bring a spare but it just didn't last long. When I got home, I put the light pole outside and have had to replace the bulb about once every 3-4 months. So, for effect they work great and the colors look really cool, esp if you are putting it in a globe. However, if it's something you are going to want to keep running, be prepare to order plenty of spares.

P.S. I do use a light sensor so that it only turns on at night so it's not running 24 hrs a day.

but a really cool light. Its not gonna light up an entire room or anything, but it will mesmorize you and your friends for hours!

I purchased this bulb to illuminate my "vintage" 1960s era metallic Christmas tree. I placed the bulb in a lamp fixture with a reflector collar and it did a nice job. Its changing red, green, blue, and yellow light was not as bright as our former "incandescent bulb-shining-through-colored-plastic-disc" motorized light fixture, but it did the trick. It fits in a regular light socket, has several LEDs encased in a thick, faceted plastic "bulb", and is sturdily constructed. A good value for the money.

12/13/11 - I love these bulbs! I have 4 of them now. They are great for outside Christmas lights to replace the bulbs in your outdoor lamps with. I have used one for a two Christmas seasons and no issues yet. I decided to by 3 more this year. My kids really like them too. You can leave them on all night for people to see an not worry about burning a ton of electricity since they consume so little.

I love this item! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing atmospher. I have no problem with this item. I will buy more soon.

This little bulb puts out a LOT of bright colors that smoothly transition from one to the next. Great for parties and other recreation.

IMPORTANT: This bulb will die very quickly (within days) if you use it with a dimmer switch or dimming/multi-stage lamp. Regular 110 light sockets only! I found this out the hard way after mine died and then found the warning in the instructions. My bad. But I'm ordering another!
