Editorial Reviews

The crime rate is going through the roof and at Norton Securities, business is going to the dogs.Desperate to save her father's company, Casey Norton (Valerie Bertinelli, "One Day at a Time") and her fiancÃ(c)e, electronics genius Brian Foster (Wesley Eure), are about to unveil a secret weapon that'll have burglars begging for mercy: C.H.O.M.P.S., the world's first computerized watch dog!Faster than a speeding pit bull and able to leap tall fire hydrants in a single bound, this powerful pooch is programmed to sink his teeth into crime. But when the company's rivals hear about C.H.O.M.P.S., they hire a pair of prowlers to destroy him. Now Casey and Brian must catch the crooks and outsmart the competition before Norton Securities winds up in the doghouse!

3.0 out of 5 stars pleasant movie June 28, 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This was a pleasant movie that I haven't seen in years.. Very good family movie. Valerie Bertinelli looks so young. I didn't realize the other character was the boy from "Land of the Lost"

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids Who Like Dogs March 29, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
My young daughter enjoys this movie and has seen it a couple of times. I extract some enjoyment reminiscing about the long-ago crush I had on Valerie Bertinelli. Conrad Bain, perhaps best known as the dad on Diff'rent Strokes, also invites nostalgia. This film falls squarely into the "harmless family entertainment" category, and kids who like dogs will especially like this film. Parents who like kids who like dogs will tolerate it with minimal pain.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad language for a rated G movie March 20, 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video
my kids thought this cheesy film was a little funny. I rented it because it was a 1970s rated G movie, but didn't expect the dog to the S&*! word a bunch!
