Very elegant case. I was surpised to see that it is sort of a hard leather case. The color shown is accurate. It looks fantastic with the BROWN/RED Panasonic model. DOn't think you're getting a soft leather pouch with this one...
Expensive, but it it's very nice.

After investing a good amount on money into a Leica C-Lux 2 I wanted to protect my investment with a nice case. The Leica leather case is a very well made case. The quality and fit and finish are great. It should last far longer than the camera.
The belt loop is nice and the case does not feel to bulky when attached to my belt. The cover is secure but easy enough to pull away to retrieve the camera. So far so good...
I would rate this case five out of five stars if not for it's one inherent flaw. The C-Lux 2 has a slider style power switch on the top of the chassis. For no apparent reason, when used with this case the power switch can inadvertently be moved to the ON position while in the case. This could be devastating to your camera since the lens will try to expand out but will be stopped by the case. This could burn out the motor and basically destroy your camera. The only way to avoid this is by putting the camera in picture review mode so when it turns on in the case (and it will) the lens assembly will not open. I also recommend using the power save mode so the camera will automatically turn off after a few minutes otherwise you could drain your battery.
I always worry that one day either my wife or I will forget to turn the dial to picture review mode and the camera will be no more. After paying so much money for the camera and this case Leica should be able to provide a fun and worry free experience.

I was worried when I ordered this - what the leather would actually look like. But it is great and I really like it. It is a pleasure to look at.

Initially, I should mention that this case for the C-LUX 2 also perfectly fits the C-LUX 3 for which I bought it. The case is what is called a hardcase, not a softcase, which means the leather is relatively thick and solid, giving appropriate protection for the pricey Leica camera. The case comes with a built-in beltloop on the rear but no provision for attachment of a neckstrap unlike the similar cognac case for the D-LUX 4. Even the black leather C-LUX 3 case(which I initially purchased)has strap attachments on its sides in addition to the belt attachment capability. This is a beautifully finished cognac leather Leica case but really shouldn't be quite as pricey considering not all that much leather was required to make it. Nevertheless, it has the Leica name and the brown finish is more traditional and classy-looking IMHO than the black case, especially for a Leica. I do wish the closing flap was at least 1/4" longer so it would fit more securely beneath the retaining strap. Unlike the black case this cognac one doesn't use a magnetic closing mechanism(I like this case's traditional closing design better overall but just wish the flap had been longer.).

Overall, this is a superb choice if you have the extra change after buying the camera.

I found the case stylish and easy to use. The camera fits easily within it. However, there is no strap that comes with it, for use round the neck. You need either to slip it through a belt, or to use the hand strap that comes with the camera.
