I simply love CSI NY and this season is living up to my expectations as I never got to see it on TV when it was aired. Gary Sinise is just brilliant. I loved the fact that they provided both CSI and CSI Miami for the crossover shows.

Second half if the season is much better and more interesting than the first half. The gold standard for CSI:NY remains Season 4. Still you can't go wrong since this is better than a lot of other fodder on TV right now.

Love the series, only glitch was the background music on which the volumn jumped to an uncomfortable level and I was contantly turning the volumn down on the music and had to turn it back up when they were talking. Had a label stating it came from Mexico.

I am a true fan of CSI New York, it is my second favourite crime drama (CSI Miami being my first) and I truly enjoyed this season, am currently watching the present season and liking that also. These CSI programmes prove to be extremely insightful and you learn quite a lot about forensics.

I love all the CSI series, so after 35 yrs. of always working Aerospace, I was laid off with so much time. What to do? Buy every season of all the CSI series, what else!

While watching these DVDs, there were a few places that didn't play exactly right. I just figured it was my player because I've had other DVDs act similarly in my player, but played fine in other players. But when I tried to sell this set back to Amazon for a gift card, the set was rejected because the DVDs are 'unauthorized'. Apparently, they are not originals. So - buyer beware!

series is good but the picture quality is not - I have an led tv and quality of the picture does not do it justice

Let me start by stating that I do like CSI:NY and I own all six seasons of the show. However, if I had seen the show first, then I would not have bought the sixth season. Here are my reasons:
1. They might as well as change the name of the show to Mac Taylor Show, since he does everything (everything but the science stuff). He interviews all suspects, he orders everyone around to include the captain, chases all bad guys and catches all bad guys. No police needed when Mac is on the case.
2. There is a lot less science stuff (this is compared to CSI: LV). They do talk a lot of science, but nothing visual. Most of the time, they discuss the science stuff with (who else) Mac, but that is where it ends. However, there is a lot of interviewing going on, but I liked it when they discover stuff via physical investigation. If I want interviews, then I could always watch Law&Order or Cold Case.
3. They are trying too hard to dramatize the show. Since Mac has taken over the show, there is not a lot time for other actors to shine. (A case in point is the new girl who had the potential to be a good addition to the team, but taken away after a couple of shows. If they got no time for old timers, then they certainly don't have enough time for a new character.) However, in order to get other actors involved, they get one shining moment, such as, Sid's case with dead football girl, Danny with his wheelchair issue, Doc with his money problem, Flak with his drinking issue. All was interesting, but never really developed. These were brought up and solved with no impact to the show (of course Mac was the man for these issues).
I do recommend this show (good cases), but I don't know about buying it. I would stick with CSI:LV (even without Grissom, they did a fantastic job. You gotta love the interaction between the actors and gotta love Jim Brass.) So, enjoy and hope this helped.
