This is a well constructed revolving punch. It works fine ... although I have so far used it solely for punching holes in leather belts. One piece of advice that I got from a tailor who has used these revolving punches since the 1970's ... To prolong the sharpness of the punch edges, put a small piece of strong cloth (denim works fine) above the striker plate (under the leather to be punched). If you inadvertently apply too much force, the punch would bore through the leather and the impact absorbed by the cloth pad above the striker plate. (You would now be 'over-punching' through the leather belt into the cloth pad - instead of 'crashing' the punch against the metal base). SEE MY PHOTOS IN CUSTOMER IMAGES Hope this tip is helpful ... :)

When I first received this in the mail, I was a little skeptical about the quality of the tool. The picture shown here isn't the same as the one I received, but aesthetics aside, I was feeling a little put off. The packaging seemed a little flimsy, but once I wrestled it free and removed the safety clamp, I began to feel a lot better. First of all, this thing feels SOLID. Nice and heavy, not something that would break in the middle of using it. I originally bought this to punch and extra hole into a watch strap that was too long, and at first I thought the smallest size puncher was too large...not so. It made a hole nearly identical to the ones originally on the strap. It was a tiny bit bigger, but who's going to notice that? Especially if it's a dual-deploy clasp? In any case, I am very pleased with the results.

This product failed in normal use, the second time I used it, while punching holes in a leather belt. I have discarded it to the trash.
It became unserviceable by twisting out of shape while hand pressure was applied , with an arm disengaging from the rotating drum containging the punch elements.

One of the easiest products to use, especially for people without any previous experience. This hole puncher for belts is a necessity for our store because we sell belts, but anyone who owns many belts, will also find this product to be a lifesaver at times.
The price is also very affordable and the different options for hole sizes make this product even more versatile.

Perfect Leather Punch Tool (Occasional User),

This is a quality leather working tool. I am only an occasional user and purchased it for adding holes to the leather strap for my daughter's shoes and a similar purpose for adding holes in my wife's belts. The small punch size fit the narrow shoe strap and the tool works very well. Before I purchased this tool, I was using a drill bit and hammer and nail combination which I found too tedious.
I don't know enough about leather tools to judge how an experienced leather worker would enjoy using it, however, I can definitely recommend it for anyone who occasionally needs to punch leather.

I bought this leather hole punch to use on my belts. At first, when I tried to use this, it did not work. Then I realized that I needed to apply more pressure. Even after I exerted myself, I still could not punch a hole through the leather. I asked my husband to try. He applied a good amount of strength before punching a hole clean through. This product does work, it is just very hard to use. You almost have to have Hulk-like strength to punch holes. I would recommend this to others because it works, but be aware that you will have to use a lot of strength to punch a single hole through a regular leather belt. I wish this were easier to use, but in all honesty, this product does what it says it does. All in all, this was a good buy.

I selected the Osborne punch after trawling through a lot of feedback on the forum. I am not disappointed. The punch looks less solid than it does in the photographs. But it does its job. I have done several in the last few weeks and that included some thick waist belts. You have to exert a little at times, but that's okay.

I'm so glad I found the review by the buyer that posted the pictures of how to protect the punch blades! I doubled over some denim & started punching holes in the watchband that I'm making for my son. makes for some awesome confetti by the way! I use the denim to wrap the punch wheel and hold the denim in place with a rubberband, while the tool is sitting in my toolbox. it's currently in use for going thru 2 layers of butter soft leather and 2 layers of innerface I took out of the back of a chair--heavy duty punching (but not as tough as a belt). well worth the price--glad I got this one.

This is decent for the price. It is a little hard to work through thick leather, but my husband can do it.

I lost a bit of weight and need to use belts to hold up my pants, the only problem was that all my belts were too big as well. For less than the price of a single smaller belt I have been able to adjust the sizing on all my belts with this tool. Depending on the thickness of the leather it might take a bit of work to create the hole - I needed a pretty strong grip in some cases - but the end result was very satisfactory.
