Best Supertones Yet!,
By A Customer
This review is from: O.C. Supertones: Live! Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
I own all the Supertones cd's up until this point and am looking forward to hi-fi revival. I can safely say that this is the culmination of the past four albums. This cd has all the best songs that the Supertones have written so far. Plus the little things such as the energetic crowd screaming in the background and the wacky intros. The greatest thing though on this cd is the three worship songs, they're excellent! If you're to get one Supertones cd you it should be this one!

Best live cd ever,

I don't usually like live albums because the balance between vocals and instruments is usually off or sounds strange, but this is the single best one that I've ever heard. The choice of songs was great, combining the best of all their albums with a couple praise songs, and the intensity of the audience and atmosphere adds so much. Just listening to the first song, Unite, as loud as you can is guaranteed to pump you up and the rest of the cd doesn't let you down at all. Hardcore lyrics, great music, Supertones rock!!!

That's what this cd is and it's the way ska should be played. All the original supertone songs are awesome live and there are 17 songs. That's the most songs the tones have ever put on an album. I hated the recorded version of return of the revolution but I love the live one. Other songs played great live are unknown, strike back, and who can be against me? I was also suprised to learn that it was mixed and recorded by punk heroes Bill Stephenson and Steve Egerton. Buy this if you enjoy live albums or awesome and crazy ska.

Now, we all know that 99% of all Christian music is garbage, but wow! The O.C. Supertones not only blow every other Christian rock act out of the water, they blow pretty much every ska band I've heard out of the water. The lyrics can be a bit preachy, but who cares when the music's this good?
Of course, the true test of a band's caliber is the live show; you can cheat on a record...being able to play a good show is something entirely different. And can these guys ever play a show! I got the chance to see them about a year and a half before they split up, and it was incredible. This recording really does a good job of capturing the intensity of their concerts, and so I highly recommend it to anyone who's seen them and wants to relive the experience. And even if you never did get to see them live, this is a good introduction to the band's music, as it features songs from all but their last two albums and includes some of their best songs. Seriously, pick this one up. You don't have to be a Christian (I'm not) or really even a ska fan to appreciate this stuff.

This cd is awesome! I saw them in concert a couple months before the live cd came out and it is like being at the concert all over again! It is a must-have for supertones fans.

Favorite O.C. album AND overall favorite live album,

When it comes to my favorite live albums, this was a close one with Five Iron Frenzy's "Proof That The Youth..." and "The End Is Here". But in the final analysis, my Supertones still managed to edge both of them with a live disc that's undeniably passionate ("Who Can Be Against Me?"), honest ("Sure Shot"), moving ("You Are My King") and uncompromising ("Return Of the Revolution") all at the same time. WHERE'S VOLUME TWO???

One of the best live CD's ever!,

This live CD shows the Supertones great talent. From awesome vocals to jaming guitar, it is hard to stop listening to this CD. The trumpet and trombone playing adds a unique effect to the songs. Also with 17 songs the CD includes the best songs of the Supertones! This CD is a must for any Christian music fan and should already by in the collection of any Supertones fan!
