C. A. Tourney is an inept attorney who opens his practice on the Island of Elima (an amalgam of the existing Hawaiian Islands). To everyoneâs surprise, including his own, he soon establishes himself as an outstanding defense lawyer in homicide casesâcases he really wants no part of. Some of his success is due to sheer good luck, while other victories are the result of bungling on the part of the prosecutorâs office. Much of his good fortune, however, he owes to his legal secretary, Nani Kamakawa. Included in this volume are seven of his cases which cover his trials and tribulations in dealing with judges, other attorneys, and the residents of the island whose murderous ways C. A. finds himself reluctantly defending in court.
